you don't seem at all biased..
tell me how it isnt a classic other than just you thinking it isnt good?
critically acclaimed
commercially successful
this is the album that turned kendrick from superstar to megastar, hence the graduation comparisons
varied production, flows, subject matter that make the album a very fluid listen
great mix of bangers, radio friendly hits and introspective deep cuts
obviously i will have bias as a kendrick fan, but when critiquing something there is always a type of bias applied

as a casual fan of rap, with no allegiance to any artist at all, I can tell you that I listened to this once when it came out and have not listened to a single track since. not a classic.
every album Ye has ever released (except JIK)>>>> this
critics, as fans of rap, with no allegiance to any artist at all, have listened to this and considered
This >>>> every album Ye has ever released.
imagine thinking you subjective preferences really matter lol
i'd argue it's even the most complex album of the past 10 years.
Only reason some parts may sound very accessible is because of the incorporation of LA soul elements.
listen to more music bro

lol he's a music lecturer, I doubt you actually listen to more music than he does.

then it's a good thing it was acclaimed by the public as well
listen to more music bro
Don't worry, music is my job and my life.
I'm also probably credited on your favorite albums...

You're not very good at your job then. Unless your job is running a Kendrick burner
critical acclaim and numbers doesn't mean anything btw
the best music in the world is sitting on someone's laptop who doesn't care about fame and recognition

you just proved the point in my reply. you can be a casual fan, thats cool. but the fact you think its not a classic based purely on ‘oh i dont like it’ isnt any worthy argument
Its cool if you dont like it though, im not one of those fans thats gonna force people to like kendricks music lol i dont even care, im just intrigued to hear ppls reasons to this not being a classic now
tbh a classic album has nothing to do with an individual's taste.
This has already been certified as a classic, based on the 3 criteria.

classics such a broad term in hip hop now tbh. you got underground/cult classics aswell but when talking about mainstream artists, these factors play a part

There's only 3 factors, and it's the exact same for underground albums.
an album doesn't become a classic because someone personally enjoy it. Just like a classic album doesn't stop being a classic because someone on a forum doesn't like it
DAMN is not a classic
Bruh what are you on. On first listen it tells a great story, but If you listen to the album while plugging the headphones in your butthole while doing a cartwheel it tells a completely different story. Name another project that does that.
