i'd argue it's even the most complex album of the past 10 years.
Only reason some parts may sound very accessible is because of the incorporation of LA soul elements.
whats so complex about it? i just heard you can listen to it front to back, the blind lady is justice and the obvious pairings of contradictory song titles. whole theme of duality never really led to a point for me though.
i knew this was DAMN. before opening the thread. why are yall insisting this is his masterpiece? genuinely dont get it
Kendrick stans want their hero to have that goat discog so desperately they cheer up a decent album to make it appear he has three classics in a row

listen again then...it took me 2 years to understand its complexity

i love kendrick, so im not even hating. GKMC era kendrick is the only rapper id put above ye.
but i dont get what people see in this album. i really wanna know cause i want it to click lol im not even hating
alien is mad because like joe budden said, kendrick is the only rapper with 4 classics in his catalog.

gkmc is kendrick's worst album tbh, its my 3rd favorite though
GKMC is Kendrick's only 10/10
it's kendrick only flawed album lol
like some have already said, its his weakest project
All bias aside:
Tpab: 10/10
DAMN: 9.5/10
s80:9/10
gkmc: 8/10
absolutely
I'd even argue kendrick has indeed 4 classics, like most ppl are saying, but gkmc isn't one of them.

stfu
Can somebody explain the concept behind the album
the concept behind the album is kendrick stans hyping up a decent album
DAMN is a classic, it’s mind boggling how people don’t see this. If Kendrick’s next album is just as good as his first 3, he’s rivaling Kanye and OutKast for best hip hop discogs
S80 lowkey a classic too

ppl see it
its the only non classical-jazz album to win the prestigious pulitzer, its the second best rated rap album of all time, behind TPAB, and its his most successful album
which is why Common and many artists are saying he probably had the most impressive run of all time

I was referring to the ppl in this thread but I appreciate this reply
Can somebody explain the concept behind the album
I did my best trying to break it down in 40 mins if you wanna take a listen, but of course there's more undertones to it
was very informative
14 full episode only for the a***ysis of this classic
Also, martin connor is currently writing a 1500 pages book about DAMN
