tbh you can talk about this masterpiece for years, you still gonna discover new things with each listen

probably the most packed album we've ever heard...it's incredibly smart, layered, and musically flawless.

  • Mar 12, 2020

If you want any more evidence that critics don’t pay attention to the music they talk about, look no further than how they rate Kendrick Lamar’s discography.

It’s a shame TPAB is going to be remembered more than DAMN tbh. DAMN is really is Kendrick’s best album.

ain't no shame, both are flawless and could be argued as his magnum opus. It's all about your taste. But objectively? they're both in the same discussion

Nah all the people that dismiss DAMN and say it’s trash turn around and call TPAB a masterpiece. All the critic drones

Damn's beauty was hard to understand for some casual listeners, only critics (2nd best rated rap album ever) and true music lovers understood it when it came out

    DAMN is not a classic

It is classic, the same way Graduation is one. Doesn’t have to equate to their best work, more so the commercial success & impact

Both albums are fan favorites outside the net, I hear more about Damn & Graduation than I do TPAB & Late Registration tbh

Also, martin connor is currently writing a 1500 pages book about DAMN

im not watching 14 episodes of a***ysis for 1 album b. can any of the f***ing people in here tell me what mysterious s*** is so good about this instead of jacking themselves off over it

    tbh

imagine comparing a 95/100 album to that mediocre graduation

kanye probably doesn't have a single album that can compete with damn.

all these 14 episodes are really worth it, they all a***yze different points

tbh I could tell you what makes damn a flawless album, but it would literally take me a full week. It's easier to just tell you in one word: FLAWLESS.
DAMN has absolutely no flaw, not a single one.

Graduation isn’t top tier Ye imo, but I would never question its impact or classic status. I would even prefer Ye to it on most days

If that’s all you got from my post, then that’s on you sis

Graduation is a much better album imo. DAMN sounds pretty basic for Kendrick's standards, came out 2017 and has aged like milk already.

yeah but kanye albums aged like milk

you can take kendrick's worst ablum, GKMC, and that s*** is still better than kanye's best work (mbdtf?)
Kanye is good at sampling, thats about it though

not a single filler, objectively. And defnitely a classic. A classic doesn't rely on an individual opinion.

bro kendrick is prolly my second fav artist. i listened to it like 50 times. i still cant see what people love about it so much.
i see themes of duality in the track title pairings, the blind lady might be justice, and the album "still works" in reverse, whatever tf that means. but it all doesnt lead to a point to me. its just meandering.
meanwhile TPAB is tighly held together by the poem, leading into the climax like a f***ing movie. same with GKMC.
its a decent album to me, nothing more. i dont get the point of DAMN.s theme, and nobody will tell me.

The reason why DAMN was considered by many legends as one of the best albums ever made wasn't the theme or concept, it was the flawless music.

I don't think you can name an album with such a brilliant musical composition
