aLIENGraduation is a much better album imo. DAMN sounds pretty basic for Kendrick's standards, came out 2017 and has aged like milk already.
But I’m not here to argue the quality necessarily lol, reread my post. The general consensus seems to lean towards classic, both albums are fan favorites and have proven to be influential or impactful. Since I’m not the biggest spokesperson for those albums lol (even though I really f*** with them) it is easier for me to be as objective as I can y’know

The reason why DAMN was considered by many legends as one of the best albums ever made wasn't the theme or concept, it was the flawless music.
I don't think you can name an album with such a brilliant musical composition

the beats dont really strike me as crazy... the 24 karat magic interpolation on loyalty is cool, but other then that... no beats id listen to on their own or anything.
also this album won a pulitzer price. for what? that couldnt have had anything to do with instrumentation. i feel like people just decided this album is really deep for no reason- Mar 12, 2020

DAMN is a classic, it’s mind boggling how people don’t see this. If Kendrick’s next album is just as good as his first 3, he’s rivaling Kanye and OutKast for best hip hop discogs

I personally don't like them, but they're still flawless. There's a huge difference between what you like, and what you should aknowledge as amazing or bad
