Yeah idk man i couldn't even explain it myself but you might be on to something here

I guess there's filmmakers out there that have a miss once in a while but the ones i consider personal classics mean a lot more to me than my fav Nolan films that i would also consider personal classics

Like you said, just cause they hit home more as a piece of art rather than a couple hours of visual spectacle/entertainment

Nolan is extremely consistent too for sure.

How many times have you watched Tenet?

I think Nolan was a genius with this one bc the whole movie is about time not working the way we can comprehend

And it's also a movie that's not a normal movie. It's not a movie you can watch once.

Same way the protagonist goes back in time multiple times to relive the same moment but with a different approach same way you have to watch this movie at least twice to start appreciating it

First watch was 3.5/5 and a bit dissapointing

    A rewatch made it a 4/5 and a ♥

Seen Inception literally yesterday and after it ended I had this weird feeling that I had more fun watching TENET and Inception felt simple compared to TENET

but hey! I know it's unpopular that's why I posted it

I've seen it 2 times, once in the theater and once at home on bluray

The 2nd watch actually was less enjoyable to me than the first

And yeah Inception was a lot more simple, it isn't nearly as complicated as casuals make it seem, but that actually is a positive thing. To me it was a much more cohesive experience while also delivering more on the emotional/character aspect that Tenet lacked

Also i thought exploring the subconscious was a lot more interesting than playing with time. I'm kinda over Nolans hard on for time at this point

Still enjoyed the film as a cool blockbuster but not one that i'm eager to watch a 3rd time again. But i don't really feel like rewatching any Nolan films that often tbh

    Yeah that's true

Dom's inability to let his wife go is a BIG subject in itself

TENET was like "This girl is pretty I'm gonna save her" and that's basically it

The concept was far more advanced but the emotional aspect was basically non existent

It does, it took me a while to get passed S1.

Don't know if this unpopular but I don't care about White VA's voicing Black characters. The only real problem I'd have it with is black VA's possibly getting less roles but that would more so be an industry problem. I had no problem with Phil Lamarr voicing Jack

Idlewild is underrated and is the best musical ever made.

The car chase with Big Boi and Terrence Howard is a top tier scene. This man Big Boi was getting shot at while rapping the lyrics to his own song. That's God level.

Chris Nolan hasn’t made a genuinely great film since the prestige. TDK was carried by Heath ledgers performance. Take that away and is was just a decent film
