Streamers have to be super reactive and always dialed up to 100 in basically everything they do.

I wouldn’t necessarily say rappers couldn’t do it but it definitely takes a specific type of person that wants to be performative 100% of the time.

Being able to spot trends and maintain relevancy is a talent. And we're talking about a generation in which topics remain relevant for really short periods of time.

You're mostly thinking about musical talent

There's more to being an entertainer than that.

It depends on your definition of success, it’s all entertainment so only a slim margin of streamers are even making money like Speed or Kai Cenat, it’s the same with rappers if you’re comparing them to the biggest rappers out

Low end streamers make more than low end rappers though. Mid tier and up is when it starts to be a convo but probably still pays better to be a rapper

Youtube has never made a profit for Google
Kick is just to funnel people into gambling

I'd say the steamers that made it are really not that entertaining & talented, they get to the top by appealing to the lowest denominator and making braindead content or really not making any they just do react slop which is 100% content thievery

Maybe because I’m in marketing and see trends come and go and then my everlasting love for hip hop, I think right now is a perfect time for hip hop to reorient itself and find newer voices. I think people are naturally burnt out on what we’ve been forced fed over the last five years.
I get that “streamers are the new rappers” but nothing is as transcendent as music.
