  • I just saw this tweet and it really made me think about it

Both Speed and Tyler share pretty similar personalities and would easily make content together if they were in the same age bracket

nah but I do think a lot of new gen rappers wish they were just steamers instead. a lot of young cats just want to be in front of a camera and just entertain or make content. music is secondary.

it opened another avenue to try and blow up for many people outside the box of sports/rap.

Most of those rappers would fail, you need hella personality to build a good base as a streamer

And that's why you have a lack of good rappers currently. There's more money to be made as a streamer, so all the talented entertainers are streamers instead of anything else nowadays

  • Streaming is one of those mediums that's hard to master but easy to get into though. So many kids want to stream and be rappers, I feel like the numbers are even on both sides lol.

Most rappers, while being good, are money oriented and can you blame them? You need money to survive and the majority of rappers come from poverty. Also the entertainment industry is capitalist. So yes, being a streamer replaced being a rapper in most cases

Same thing applies to being a successful rapper and a successful streamer makes wayyy more money than a successful rapper

We need Chinese-style internet restrictions for children

China banned YouTube and pretty much every foreign social media platform. Not exactly a suprise.

Ehh I disagree lol. Thats actually a reason why rap is in the gutter. Last decade or so niggas get into it primarily for making money, rather than having any meaningful artistic intentions.

Also if you banned gambling and esports a lot of these streaming platforms would shut down, since that's where their income comes from.

Rappers have always been money oriented

The forefathers of the genre used to wear chains bigger than their heads

And there's always been gimmick rappers. It's just that the talented people nowadays go for other lucrative fields, streaming being one of them because it's easier to do content and faster to make money.
