I think the base switch also had dev kits with 2gb more of ram so its probably nothing
yeah it’s likely nothing, i bet we are gonna see a bunch of youtubers starting the pro content mill again tho lol
I’ll get the OLED model if there is a good trade in program for the OG Switch. I’ll spend $200 for the bigger screen because I do mostly play in handheld mode now, and if it has the same battery as the revised Switch I can deal with that since I don’t even have that right now. Also it’s nice that I don’t have to change accessories as well. With that being said it’s not worth paying $350 for.
yeah the more i think about it the more i’m debating it.
i have the OG OG switch and the battery is kinda starting to die fast
and i have been playing handheld more often too. although i still like playing docked for smash bros and things like that
Switch v1: 2017
Switch v2 & Lite: 2019
Switch OLED: 2021
I don’t see the “Pro” coming out until at least 2023 tbh
yo I was in the exact same headspace as you yesterday
but actually now I’m kinda thinking the point of this model is because the pro is releasing in 2022 and they knew it would ether the 2017 switch
In other words, the $299 switch that’s 5 years old wouldn’t seem like a good value once a “pro” dropped in 2022.
But now they can complement the 2022 pro model with the 2021 oled model, and both will fit into an attractive lineup where one doesn’t eclipse the other, and both can sell well
Imagine having an OLED monitor at 720p
and it’s 30hz
edit: nvm it’s 60hz but let’s face it a lot of the new games will run at 30fps, like Pokémon legends, botw2, Metroid, splatoon 3, etc.

Great trailer, reminded me of the old 3d zeldas trailers
Just talked to someone at work about the OLED model and bro said he copping first day without any hesitation
Are we copping mh stories?
Turn based battle style is not my thing. MH Rise is good though, Stories should be as well.

Oh s*** I never play handheld so I forgot lol

Yeah, it runs tons of games at 60fps, even big ones like Odyssey and Smash Bros. It's a really good screen tbh, I don't think anyone was crying out for an OLED upgrade

I’m OP of a Nintendo Thread and even I am buffering when it comes to this one lol.
how’s everyone feeling about switch OLED? i know it’s not a huge change, but it looks gorgeous and it’s only $50 pricier than the original.

I want it bad. OLED is a crazy upgrade don’t sleep on it and the bigger screen will make tabletop and handheld so much more fun

Adding Bluetooth makes it better in handheld mode as well, makes no sense just to improve visuals.
