The reality is most non d*** using lifters will get enough activation from doing compound lifts, and doing more isolation exercises for your glamour muscles like shrugs just increases chance of injury while giving you very marginal returns

and there genetics too iv always enjoyed doing them too
so a while a go i was doing shruggs with the bar at the gym i did 10 sets wanted to do two more so i rested 15 secs went in and did it then i was fine next more morning could not move my neck or do anything pretty much without feeling it i think its a pinch nerve/knot so i got a massage today and did espon salt so i am hoping it goes away with rest as well
has anyone had this before?
edit: where the pain is its right on my right side of my upper neck going down to my trap and upper back
Sounds like a pinched nerve. I would just stretch and rest from workouts in that plane. Only way to fix that issue
