I think it started cause I was being controlling and she looped it around to being toxically masculine and we drifted apart eventually.
When you promise someone you'll buy them something, you dont come up with "conditions" later. So yeah you shouldve bought it
Obviously a touchy topic but I just thought back to this scenario. He's 4.
We were at the mall shopping and he saw like a princess dress from his favorite movie frozen. I said I'd get him something.
She took him to the dressing room and they tried it on, I thought nothing of it. A little weird but he's just trying on clothes, I used to do that s*** for laughs too as a kid- they're just kids man.
She comes out "He said he thinks he lookes beautiful 🥺. You should get him this gift."
I said fuuuckkk no, not because it's weird, but because he's like WAY too young to be thinking about this s*** and I won't facilitate it. She got pissed at me and said I was being toxic but like I really don't see it that way. Wouldn't talk to me for a week almost.
I said she can get it if she wants but I'm not gonna put that in his head this early in his life and that I didn't think she should either.
Don't matter anyway cause we broke up a few months later (we're on again off again- boutta be on again 👀👀👀) and I think this is a major contributing factor.
Was I wrong? Did I play my cards right? How do you even approach this kinda s***
Nigga why you playing another nigga saved game?!
True, I don’t mean to condemn OP. I still think that the correct decision for the child would have been to buy the dress, but it’s not black and white.
I think there's a difference between guidance and influence.
And it made me uncomfortable. I get y'all points, but I'll make the same decision again when we get back together.
We talked about getting married. If I ever married her, no way in hell I'd be down for that.

Didn’t read thread and I’m sure they’re coming @ u wit that new nigga s*** but u did nothing wrong
It should end at the fact that it’s your money but yea I’m not buying no young nigga no dress, that’s just not sumthing Imma be apart of in any way I’m sorry for being born in the 90’s right before this s*** switched
If she want that nigga in a tutu she can buy it and that lil nigga can wear all the dresses he wants to it’s her son and her money but she can’t guilt you into being apart of something you don’t necessarily think is right regardless of the extra bullshit people try to throw on you for feeling that way
too young to be thinking about what? its just clothes
Until he gets to high school and kills himself because someone lobs a picture of this nigga in a dress on the timeline lol
These next 20 years are gonna be wild
He just thinks its some cool outfit b. Hes young af
That you make such a big deal of it prob made her think youre against transgenders or so
If i found out my girl homophobic or racist i aint gon talk to her again either
So much reaching
Dude hates transgenders because he doesn’t wanna buy a 4 year old a dress?
Damn niggas are becoming really f***ing stupid lol
You were in the right. Ktt is typically extreme left. But if the mom wants to do that on her own time, good on her. But if you’re not about it, def don’t buy the dreas

If you’re seriously okay with society socially belittling someone for wearing a dress when they were four then you’re a f***ing lunatic my guy.
why she askin u to buy him a dress, tf?
Its her kid
Lmaoo before we get into the philosophical s*** around why a 4 year old should or shouldn’t wear a dress this is where it should end
It’s just as ridiculous if she was nagging you to buy HER son a pair of Jordans lmao like if that’s what I do cool but b**** u not finna try and guilt me into buying clothes for a developed semen I didn’t create 🤣🤣🤣🤣
no one likes people who are controlling.
I mean yeah, I was an ass and messed up. She was good to me that time around. Wasn't always, but she was during that stint and I overplayed my hand and had to date around with women I didn't like who break up with me over dumb s***.
We're on better terms now and talking again, she's still my ex but we but I can sense the shift since I've been there over and over.

Whether or not im okay with it doesn’t matter it can happen and you have a very smooth brain for thinking that “I’d be okay” with any kid being bullied into suicide just for acknowledging that that type of s*** can happen once we’re 10-15 years past “this” era and the kids that y’all projected yalls virtue signal debates on grow up to be their own people lol
Hope u get the likes tho for being “open minded” lol

So if we'd ended up getting married imma just never pay for her kid ever?
S*** was awkward enough the first few years we dated at that point I really didn't care that much.

Once y’all get to that point cool but are you married nigga? You just said y’all off and on your damn self confused man 😂
Even if I was married I’m not gonna buy some s*** I don’t want to buy if it’s my money the f*** lol
It was a point where hardcore Christian parents I knew as a kid didn’t buy their kids Harry Potter books and rap CD’s; I’d overhear those convos in church
It’s the same s***
If you didn't buy it for him, did she?
She ended up buying it. I got him like some s*** with baseball cause he liked baseball.
Nigga I’m finna buy the lil nigga this iron man mask and y’all can figure all that other s*** out on y’all own time ✌🏾
She ended up buying it. I got him like some s*** with baseball cause he liked baseball.
That's fine then. She can find another nigga to help raise another nigga's kid if she thinks you're wrong.
Don't waste your time with someone like that.
When you promise someone you'll buy them something, you dont come up with "conditions" later. So yeah you shouldve bought it
I don't agree with op but that's stupid logic lol my parents would tell they would buy me something or choose something to eat and then (but not that) all the time
If u disagree with op u disagree with op but that logic seems pretty childish
