You were in the right. Ktt is typically extreme left. But if the mom wants to do that on her own time, good on her. But if you’re not about it, def don’t buy the dreas

the kid is just being a kid and sees it as just something cool to wear.

the concept of crossdressing and the shame that automatically comes with that don't exist. When you refuse a child to express themselves in however they want those kind of limitations stay with them. Parents putting early boundaries on their child based on their own implicit biases does leave a mark.

Saying no to an article of clothing is not the same as telling a child no to say....jumping off a building or buying something that can actually be seen as harmful.

I mean that's basic psychology but what do I know

This would be true if OP said something like "I'm not gonna have you dressing like a women" or something to that effect. However, it looks like he just said no to buying the dress and even let the kid try it on. The kid isn't going to associate the "no" with the product but with the parent.

Not even saying whether or not OP should’ve bought the dress but I’d respect it if y’all (in general) just said ”I don’t rock with that s*** instead of hiding behind the ”b-b-but kids shouldn’t be thinking about that” stuff

Trust me the kids ain’t thinking about social norms when they want a dress just like they ain’t thinking about it when they want a t shirt. I just don’t like when people hide behind virtue so they don’t have to say how they really feel

I'm not alt right at all. I don't agree virtually anything on the right except some things concerning capitalism.

Believe it all not but being left wing doesn’t mean you dnt subscribe to certain norms of society

Imagine thinking that not wanting to dress a 4 yr old in girl clothes is controversial

    In my opinion

    You did the right thing

No matter his preference little boys shouldn’t be bought dresses

I’m sorry if this offends anyone

There are some things kids just aren’t aware of

They are sculpted by their reality

At 4yrs old that kid has no idea about sexuality. You don’t want that kid thinking it’s normal for him to wear dresses.

Do you understand how cruel kids are. Parents set their kids up for public scrutiny from the jump.

Now, if he has a sister and she has a dress sure lil nigga you could wear that. I would make it very clear that girls wear dresses and not boys, though

So kids don't know boys from girls?

Well I ain't dating a girl I've been seeing for almost 7 years, who has a son, to not one day make him my son

If I stop f***ing around and choose to marry her (which is my lifelong dream) I'm part of her family

You been seeing her for 7 years but she got a 4 year old thats not yours
