I have heard some mills can be horrendous but mine rn is the best job I’ve ever had

It wasn’t starting. I started around $25 or so, and I’ve worked my way up. It’s a ladder position set up, so the “promotions” come as you get more people to fill the jobs under you. You train them and then bump up and start training elsewhere. I’m training right now and I believe when I certify it’ll be a pay bump
Sorry for the crazy long post, but this is the best job I have ever had so if I can help anyone have a similar experience, I will. I work half the year essentially. 4 days on, 4 days off / then 4 nights on, 4 nights off and repeat. That can suck but the good outweighs the bad imo.

i think its cause they can pay the new grads a lower salary? since u have more exp youre prob more expensive.

gave up on applying for jobs months ago!! everyone is trying to dunk each other like playing around in a pool as a kid!! everyone is willing to do a tug of war for work hours and preferable shift times!! f*** employment i avoid it at all costs!! i applied to every job in town LITERALLY and never got 1 interview. the 3 interviews i got were out of town and they turned out to be dead ends. thankfully i got inheritance money comin in so i can get right and invest money in training and employment (good clothes, haircuts, good shoes)
