What artists has Ken Carson inspired?
Artists of his ilk, not him directly

Carti and Yeat are influential but that's about it from that sound lol
I'm not even trying to sound like an "old head" here but it's just a fact that most rappers after the Big 3(Kendrick, Drake, Cole) have yet to capture their essence and bring as much excitement to the genre as them.
A lot of newer rappers just aren't making that much of a big dent in the genre to say that hip hop will be in good hands if Ye and Eminem stay away from music.
Juicy J already confirmed that rap sales were down 40%. We see many young rappers cancelling their shows. We see tons of rappers including in younger ages like Yachty claiming that the genre is in a bad place(and he's not referring to Ye or Em).
I personally enjoy Carti but even I sometimes doubt if he'll be able to sustain his momentum. But he seems to take his music seriously so I'll keep my hopes up.
There's a reason why Old Man Em and Old Man Ye still have the most Spotify listeners in rap after Drake and Doja. Even Travis who just dropped the biggest album this year has less.

the underground is in a sore spot in terms of live shows right now
Here's a theory- The reason why hip hop is dying is because everyone bet on the backpackers as the future of hip hop. Prior to that, there's a reason why the street and gangsta mc's were on top for a long time. They had that hunger to keep wanting to release music. Once the torch was passed to the more "conscious" type of mc, things got a bit sour imo.
… what conscious rappers are you talking about?

Generally speaking but the ones that everyone hyped up and never release material.

Name them
To name a few, K dot, Tyler, Earl, Cole
Oh yes.. tyler and earl who rarely get radio play!! Sure, they’re the reason why rap isn’t growing.

2 years is a long time. MC's used to normally release an album yearly or at least 18 months. And there are some that still do. Like Youngboy NBA or Drake. But with a 2 year wait between albums today's fan will most likely lose interest in the artist and move on to something else. Hype for things dies quickly in the 2020's.
OP yet again created a good bait thread by bringing up rappers he claims he doesn't like that much. Gotta give him props for that.
But OP still hasn't addressed who Yachty was referring to when he recently said the rap game today was in bad shape.
Was he subbing Em and Ye or was he referring to his own peers?
Seems like the OP is more out of touch than he realizes.
@Kev @Magenta very very soon…
Extremely Powerful and Truthful thread.
Soon Inshallah
Ye really is at Em levels of trash as a rapper. Hang it up buddy!
And yet they both have more monthly listeners than any rapper under 30 not named Doja Cat without an album dropping.
The newer school is supposed to surpass them by now but they still overshadow most of the young rappers while falling off musically and being semi-retired.

Tyler keeps his fanbase tho. And that’s not a fully true statement cuz artists like Nas had a 2 year release schedule in the 90s

This is just not true lol you clearly have a bias against Kanye cause you love Drake so damn much

Mfs had to wait 2 years for Tribe records and still remained interested in them until they as a group couldn’t keep it together so idk what he’s even talking about lmaoo
