    capitalism, through its mechanisms of economic freedom, innovation, and market-driven growth, has been the primary driver behind unprecedented global improvements in living standards, poverty reduction, and technological advancement over the past two centuries

    It'd be reduced about 70% I guarantee it

  • A little bit, capitalism has caused massive improvements in living standards so people don’t have to worry about dying from other s*** like starvation. If you’re busy the whole day trying to survive you’re not gonna be thinking about suicide. There’s a big correlation in living standards and amount of suicides.

    Jesus had to be sacrificed to fulfil the prophecy so Judas might have been hoed

    Actually an interesting discussion for predestination vs free will. Like I think it was even prophecised in scriptures years before the disciples lived that the son of God would be betrayed by someone close to him, so how accountable can you really hold Judas? Like yeah the nigga did it, but it was also literally God's plan

    Prophecy =\= deliberate choice

    it could have been anyone and Judas, through his own decisions, determined it to be him

  • Not nearly to the extent that it does f*** no

    I think this is what the people cooking OP too hard are missing

    why individual people do certain things is unknowable and impossible to predict, but through class struggle we can observe the trends. factory workers in bangledesh throwing themselves off balconies because of 12 hour shifts and slave wages is certainly an observable phenomenon and a result of modernity.

  • of course it would still exist

    however i think the rate of it would be much lower

    Prophecy =\= deliberate choice

    it could have been anyone and Judas, through his own decisions, determined it to be him

    But whoever that person was, would have done so to have the son of God killed, as God wanted and as prophets (influenced by God) predicted. Their choice was their own but how much choice do you really have when the creator of this entire universe and everything in it wanted the result to happen and even foretold that your (whether Judas or someone else) actions were the cause of it?

    Also seen a theory that Judas was possessed by Satan and that's why he betrayed Jesus. You can argue that he was weak and that's what allowed him to be controlled by the devil/greed but it feels odd to hold someone fully accountable when the plan would not have occurred without their actions and there's supernatural spiritual forces like God/Satan at play

    you assumed his life in order to get off a lame ass joke so idek what you tryna do

    I’m not assuming anything, that is literally everyone’s reality assuming you don’t live in a base area in the Philippines

    because for the prophecy to be fulfilled, one of those close to him would have to fall victim to weakness but he never said who

    so there was literally a 1/12 chance it could have been Judas

    who out of his own deliberate choices that God did not make him choose, it led to the fulfillment of the prophecy

    but this isn’t as important or comparable to the sacrifice that Jesus made, as this is what fulfills the ultimate prophecy. the prophecy leads to Jesus, it can’t be above

    he's the Goat Disciple when you really deep it

    i said too much...

    what he did was necessary without his betrayal the ultimate sacrifice would not have been made and prophecy would not be fulfilled HOWEVER Judas made the greatest mistake in thinking that he was beyond forgiveness. for the thief on Jesus’s right asked him for forgiveness Jesus told him he would be in paradise. all Judas had to do was ask for forgiveness and he would’ve been saved so sad to think about
