And I think you are going with an incredible patronising angle when I’m trying to have a simple discussion with you. We’ll leave it there bro.

well man you've repeated ad nasuem that you don't live in america and have said you can't comment on any specific laws because you don't but when one party is doing everything short of calling for open genocide of trans people, there is no compromise there

can’t wait for this s*** to fall apart

It's everybody honestly, there many aren't open discussions with sourced and vetted material in the public space but apps on every phone with open invitations to talk to whomever decides to respond

Reforming the education system here would overhaul the caste system and we know that's not gonna happen

You're actually a real one for this

some people think it's futile to hold my position (and they're definitely right to some degree) but the optics of someone being anti-trans, posting scientific articles, and then just being called names in reeponse instead of being disproven or told how the articles may not be super relevant is so horrendous to me i feel compelled to point that s*** out

Conversations are being limited and censored, like books are being burned.

I don't think you're wrong for calling for equal discussion. Only way a consensus to be born is to bring forth as much data as possible

no one in good faith can argue any conservative stance on any LGBTQ+ issue that I’ve seen. And this “man let’s bring the discussion to light” is also tiring when the other side doesn’t want to discuss or compromise.

They literally don’t think these people have a right to exist.

obviously this is anecdotal but i have talked to and convinced people in my personal life holding conservative/moderate stances to be much more liberal on LGBTQ+ issues by not calling them re*tards because they disagree with me and instead talking to them about their position and their points

i would like to think i have done the same to at least a few people lurking on this website over the years

i don't think it's worth giving up on just because you aren't going to sway everyone

That's a wild perspective to hold if I'm being honest. Idk what sides your referring too but the politicization of this issue, as well as others, seems cursed

most of the people i know that are liberal were actually from my time spent in the military, most of us didn't have college degrees or anything (but went for a year or two and dropped out)

it is true that academia skews liberal though

If you’re goal is to be the enlightened centrist itt then you’re nailing the bit, cuz otherwise you can’t argue in good faith that the “politicization” of this issue stems largely from the reactionary pushback from conservatives elements of our society. I do believe dems politicize this in the sense they co-opt LBGTQ movements to drive voting engagement, but as far as outright openly hostilities and not reducing discrimination… has entirely come from one party.

Any attempt to change that is being ignorant atp

I'm just confused because normally I see strawman arguments drawn up to crucify the stereotype of either side. I personally would like to know who the majority thinks represents these values

I'm coming into political culture, and so far I think it's all dumb

the broad demographics of the political parties is not hidden knowledge and the stereotypes are kinda true, you can look into this stuff through a lot of sources online like pew research or gallup polls

But how true? The Republican party was a "black" party less than 150 years ago. I think the information of the parties are hidden and that's what's causing so many unhinged conversations. I think the stereotypes are creating lazy narratives

I’m not a liberal anyways but also you’re assuming conservatives are arguing in good faith, again which is false.
