I think the last few recent pages have shown why progress has stalled; some people want to engage in discourse based on studies and actual experiences with treatments etc, and some people want to cry and spit their dummy out if people don’t agree with every single thing they say in it’s totality. It’s the latter group which need to be silent in the discourse if they have nothing to actually contribute. People say things we disagree with every day but you have to be able to talk to people you disagree with for things to change.
Nah there is a user in this thread posting a lot of easily refutable anti-trans talking points - people have engaged by actually giving counters. But eventually when you do that over and over again and someone is still adamant on spewing anti-trans rhetoric, eventually people get frustrated and say f*** you.
Idk. Essentially blaming the state of America and the attack on trans people on people saying f*** you to the GOP is some wild interpretation as to why republicans insist on attacking an already very marginalized group

Actually, no we don't have to engage with ignorant transphobes on the internet
Part of doing research and studying an issue is studying it in its totality. posting the half baked study you find because it supports your insidious world view is not "discourse" or putting forth an actual argument lol. it takes 20 seconds to do that and does not require serious engagement

Yes but transphobic is the status quo response for so many to any form of discourse or concerns. People can, for example, be concerned about women in sport or the impact on immature confused young peoples minds and want trans people to be treated fairly the two things aren’t mutually exclusive. There’s been LGBTQ supporters “cancelled” over the past couple of years for saying something needs to be done about trans women in sports and teachers being censored or sacked if they aren’t willing to teach about gender identity to young children. I am not transphobic in the slightest but there needs to be a middle ground in certain areas like sport where trans people can compete fairly, thankfully that’s not a headache for me to solve. As for anti-trans laws passed in the US I cannot comment as I’m not from the US and don’t know about these laws enough to comment.

It is, and a comprehensive review of scientific literature involves acknowledging all the data regardless of where it comes from- without assuming an agenda, and looking at all the facts not just those that fit your narrative. However, when you’ve got people like deadpegasus who’s only input is to give people s*** because they don’t like what they are saying that was my point about where the discourse falls down.
as the only person who actually engaged with the s*** that was being posted in here
you all are cringe loser cucks trying to browbeat others and claim you're too good to engage
i get that it can be tiring to respond to talking points and s*** you see online, especially when less than 20% of it is in good faith probably. nobody is by any means obligated to actually argue with anyone. but i would rather have those types of posters to engage with instead of scrolling through pages of haughty posters calling people cocksuckers and then patting themselves on the back because they're on the correct side

Main character syndrome going crazy
Main character syndrome going crazy
it's not main character syndrome to wish people stopped screeching at people they disagree with like it's twitter

I think you're reaching hard with this lol usually the people who are most against queer stuff are the least informed on the topics, and that's probably why progress is stalling because power is in the wrong hands.... Not because trans activists don't care about the research

Except data and science and studies do have an agenda lol.

this thread is like 3 months old i'm talking about the last 2 pages with the guy posting the study and the journal article

Ignorant transphobes = people who believe in material reality
it's not main character syndrome to wish people stopped screeching at people they disagree with like it's twitter
why should people arguing in bad faith be given any attention. not everything needs to be an intellectual debate
Ignorant transphobes = people who believe in material reality
Being trans is not an immaterial experience
Ignorant transphobes = people who believe in material reality
except the reality of gender affirming care being proven to work is ignored
curious
why should people arguing in bad faith be given any attention. not everything needs to be an intellectual debate
if i cared about changing the mind of the person i was arguing with i would never argue with anyone
if i'm engaging with someone about a topic i care about i'm not going to call them a cocksucker and then pat myself on the back. that's just how i see things
you or anyone else aren't obligated to do anything
Ignorant transphobes = people who believe in material reality
ignorant transphobes = banned
ignorant transphobes = banned
hehehehehe
