It's really not a mystery why progess stalled, you can listen to the critics themselves and they're pretty vocal about which aspects of lgbtq they don't agree with

But it's convenient for activists to pretend the other side is all in on a conspiracy to spread misinfo and keep the "real reasons" secret and it's nothing but hysteria on both sides. Right wingers overreating about sports and bathrooms and trans activists overreating about laws and "genocide" so many talk about buzzwords like "Republicans want genital inspections" when the laws they write have nothing to do with that

It’s all hyperbole and reactionary sensationalism on both extreme ends of the argument. The right are worse though; as you saw with them focusing on the fact one of the more recent shooters was trans- what was their excuse for the 100s of other mass shootings by non trans people? They’d rather make it a trans issue instead of a f***ing stupid outdated gun law issue.

By twisting words around and claiming it's simply "the right to exist" when these laws never stop that from happening.

It's not a right to play on whatever sports team you feel most comfortable on but let the lgbt side tell it and that's equal to murder or bigotry. As if kids haven't had their sports privileges taken away for getting low grades. Trans people should be able to use the pronouns and identity they want without violence or discrimination but treating privileges and experimental treatments as if they're self evident rights is what the right is pushing back against

Look at the Kansas bill about sports for example, every activist claimed that it was mandating genital inspections while the law said nothing about that, just that sports are split by either male, female, or mixed. Or the law in TN banning drag shows, people twisted it to say being trans in public was made illegal when the law banned any sexual performance from public spaces where kids are present. In effect only banning drag queen story hour but for some reason people need to use hyperbole and twist words to support their cause
