with Apple Music, just keep all your local files stored on your laptop & it’ll match those with what’s on streaming to keep track of your play count for month/year-end stats. if you don’t offload those local files, they aren’t edited. it doesn’t change the cover art if you imported with custom cover art either (anymore), it only does that now if the cover art lacked an image.

and for the spotty service thing, you can download as many songs as you want offline on your phone, and you can choose the quality they save in.

using Apple Music with an iPhone is just like using iTunes how we used to except you can also play basically anything else in the iTunes Store. you can even edit metadata for songs/albums you only stream but didn’t download on your laptop.

i don’t dislike Chance, but the song always felt like Kanye took it from Coloring Book rather than it being for TLOP

that's what I did for a bit.

you just have to rely on a lot of stuff to connect without wires which scares me.

I also rock flip phone these days to get off the grid and slop fest so

music was a lot more fun when artists had to release a few good to great projects to build fanbases

True I never bought the idea IYRTITL is a mixtape but chance had this whole “oh he’s independent he hasn’t dropped his debut yet” thing going on. Which was not really true

The larger rap game probably early 2010’s like 2014, i remember it started being less projects like SFG More Abt Nothing Yellow Album bc people started to peep those tapes were better than peoples albums

I dont think it stopped in the south/southeast trap type rappers until maybe 2016-17 when Spinrilla and LiveMixtapes started redirecting you to streaming services when you tried to download

I feel like institutionalized was the last real tape like that. I knew sum was off when Gucci and Uzi dropped their collab tape in like 2017-2018 and it came and went
