    Drake/Kendrick beef was a cool send off but it's done. The genres been in decline for a decade. It's unfortunate because it's my favorite genre but the country has changed, young people (and the labels) clearly don't care as much as they used to, and there aren't as many new concepts to explore

    Time for new genres and ideas

    doechii and esdeekid are the most commercially successful of the 2024-2025 debuts tho. And both can rap pretty well.

  • another rap beef that makes everyone care again. I may be wrong but I dont think we will have another beef of this magnitude again. It just kinda felt like the avengers:infinity war/end game of rap. this s*** got restarted. The new generation is gonna have to find a way to produce some superstars of that caliber....

    I think the next generation will be gravitated toward more obscure genres and ideas. We might see Noise and Experimental music make mainstream.

    it will still need to be digestible but i think with the anti-ai sentiment of youth, there will
    be a gravitation towards alternative and avante garde.

    kinda seeing this in my circle already
