as a 25 year old thats listened to drake since i was 11 i dont get what this nigga did to yall. like this is clearly one of the greatest rappers to ever do this but just because he sings his hooks now he a popstar. literally there is no difference between drake and future yet drake is called the pop star. why cant you sing without being called a pop star

i think the real things people can criticize drake on isnt even talked about, people just dont like this nigga.

like am i insane? did i not listen drake dominate an entire decade with a pen that had the greatest artist of all time doing tricks on that s***

The actual answer to your question tho is that he made himself the poster child of treating the rap game as a true sport / he made it so that accolades and playing the rap “game” more important than a lot of the fundamental s*** we required from rappers up until him. Wayne’s ethos were about being the best (even if it was being the best at p**** skate s*** money bars) and Drake’s were about having the best executed career even if that meant your music got repetitive and predictable after 2016

I appreciate the peaks of his run tho and from 09-15 we never saw a run like that and probably never will again. Meek beef ruined whoever that guy was but he’s still appreciated beyond the jokes

drake didnt have his homies showing him guns or trying to pull him into gang life. drake didnt have immediate family members (to our knowledge) strung out on d****.

drake is soft, the game just stopped clowning him for it after his first few albums.

if drake wanted to be Hip Hop, he would do like he said on sandras rose and "make an album of ten of these". he would address racism or police brutality. you know, the things hip hop was created to address among other things

at the end of the day, doing that would jeopardize drakes image, and his image takes priority over everything else. that as well, is pop
