  • My firsrt attempt at loco moco

  • rachaelsgoodeats.com/herby-spring-pasta-salad-with-protein

    made this tn! soooo good
    eyeballed the measurements tbh
i didnt serve this as a salad
instead i did a bit of extra pesto and cooked the peas/spinach until wilted
i also only did half a lemon (zest of 1 whole lemon)
and a bit less pasta so it serves 3-4

    ate wonderfully 2day

    maps.app.goo.gl/HbANFZmZn7AMAbXc6

this spot is known for the duck bbq and their kimchi bulgogi, we did kimchi bulgogi today and holy moly it was so good
all their banchan were super elite, they literally gave us spicy raw marinated crab as a banchan LOL
felt like i was in korea fr
also the ladies were super duper nice and the ambiance was incredible

we already made plans to come back for the duck bbq and naengmyeon

honestly might be my fave korean spot in nyc now

also been ate hot cross buns 2 days in a row LOL

    both were super good
    1. elbow bread x quince bakery (london) - "Hot Cross Buns - mixed entirely with a beautiful blend of NY grown wheat, split and adorned with house-made clotted cream (miracle substance), candied kumquats, and bonus poached rhubarb"
    2. watchhouse - "Hot cross buns, across our UK and US Houses.
Raisins are soaked in @goodandpropertea Earl Grey tea - a twist on this British classic" it also has candied orange peels and the bun is spiced, came w butter

both were excellent. i do prefer butter over clotted cream w it bc its easier to eat... i think the elbow x quince bun was more cakey than bready. both were excellent in diff ways (one was just a dessert, one felt like a really zhuzhed up bun... pricing reflects that too--elbow x quince was 14, wh just 5)

quince doing a collab w radio bakery 2 this weekend, rhubarb meringue cake but i hate meringue most of the time and am only slightly partial to rhubarb so im skipping

    finally tried juniper.

won best croissant in sf last year or some s***. it was just aight prolly won’t be back.

cubano pan suisse - just alright. pork kinda bland + not enough pickles or mustard flavor.

raspberry almond croissant - you shouldn’t be allowed to call a croissant an almond croissant unless it has frangipane filling. basically a jam filled croissant w some slivered almonds on top. would have got something else if i knew.. or maybe i would have liked it more if i knew what to expect.

black sesame queen ahman - pretty good. my fave of the three. center was kinda dense/doughy tho ngl.

  • i bought 2.5 lb meat and cooked all of it in 1 go bc it was abt 2 go bad
    made thit kho and nikujaga

    recipe: tiktok.com/@alissanguyen_/video/7321058707331157290

justonecookbook.com/nikujaga (i based off this but since i got a thicker cut of wagyu i seared it for a few seconds then put in the pot at the very very end (final 30 secs)
