Because 2006 wasn't really a strong year for rap. If we're gonna compare, I'd have to say some s*** like FS/LS clears all those

It was in no way as great as 2016

2016 was a generational thing, on pare with what happened in 1991-1995

We will not experience anything like 2016 and what follow until around 2038

2029 will prob be like 2016. Gen Z ages out fully into full adulthood and Gen Alpha will be 18-19 and emerging as new artists

idk if you know this, but the chokehold on music usually is with whoever is in their 20s up to 40s lol. we are currently in the phase of aging out millennials still big dawg. Gen Alpha won’t be the focus until the middle-end of the 2030s

NBA Youngboy just turned 26 and just got outside. he got about a decade of dominance ahead of him as a young leader of Gen Z who are currently still in high school

Im not talking about mainstream I’m talking about what’s culturally relevant online. Carti and Travis pre blow ups in 2013-2014 are where I mark their artistry coming into bloom

Maybe, but more is needed than that to make a generational movement like the grunge movement and the SoundCloud movement

TLOP and Blonde rollout were giant moments in music history. That seals it for me. Not everything just albums against albums
