Lmao it’s funny how wrong they was. Lebron ain’t in the movie and no one gets hit by a train
Lmao I figured his thought process was Michael B Jordan = Michael Jordan, mixed up Michael Jordan with Lebron James, and I guess he just assumed he would die via train hit
I rather watch all these at home and its cheap

if you're cool with movies becoming way less large in scale, sure
As I said before, I'm someone who goes to the cinema a lot (I identify as a cinephile) but often, I'm fine with watching at home. Picture quality, sound quality etc. is often irrelevant to me unless the movie is being shown on film. I often forget where I saw a movie, and all I remember is the movie itself, which is what matters.
That's part of the reason why I'm so confused why people are so pissed at this
Also, support your local theater if you're really mad
My theater has had virtual screenings all year which I've paid for. Your nearest theater may have some too which will help them survive
I mean it's the experience bro , a social experience
I don't go to theatres by myself. If a friend wants to see a movie we'll make a day / night of it . I love talking about it after it, the feeling when you come out together having seen something great or trash
My mum has a friend she would go to the theatre with a couple times a month and it's not bc she's an avid film buff
Stuckmann makes fantastic points
he ain't campea
I hope this lowers the probability of sitting near a******s in movie theaters.
Hopefully they stay home.
movies about to be like sports now
if you want to watch it for free alone stream it
if you want to pay to watch it with strangers with similar interest then buy a ticket....it's a win win

tbh i really like the idea of releasing streaming and theaters at the same time
i just worry about how long theaters will be able to survive with this

This might be the best thing to come from this

Well based off that persons a***ogy there could only be like 1-3 major cinemas per state. Few more in the bigger state. Or 1 big cinema per major city

nah, something like star wars would sell out instantly and would have a long waiting list.

Is it tho? Part of the reason live sports works is because you get to see your favorite players live in action. And people In general are wayyyy more invested into sports than movies. I honestly don’t think cinemas can survive if this becomes permanent

Ok and also factoring in marvel movies that’s only like 1-2 major movie a year that would sell out instantly. Preventing 1-2 major movie a year from selling out wouldn’t warrant having a bunch of theaters open.
i hope that cinemas dont fail i love that s***
This is just sad. There could have been ways to save theaters but it’s clear studios are not giving a f*** about them. They are the best way to see movies.

except when U realise that in the streaming game all that matters in minutes-spent-on-platform-engaging and a movie is like 200mins compared to a series its not viable anymore and the only movies being made in 2025 are DC universe movies lit by candlelight and reflectors

You mean the government? Really isn’t much options for studios due to the pandemic, they still have a duty to get their films in front of as many people as possible and generate as much income as possible

more about the bigger picture of what it means for the industry lol i mean in a way it is totally pointless to be mad cus its inevitable anyways its the acceleration that sucks
I love theaters as much as the next man but it isn’t movie studios job to keep theaters a float, especially with what’s going on. Studios can’t worry about keeping their movies a float AND theaters. Theaters have to also carry their own weight and figure out ways to stay open while following the new rules and guidelines.
If anyone is to blame it’s the government for lack of funding.
