I bought this s*** for $400 last MONTH do I flip
Chances of ever getting another one near $400 looking real slim
the one time we actually are gonna get Half Life 3 and they shelve it so that it can coincide with a Steam console release (that people have ALSO wanted for years) and it all gets botched by the worst people alive and the worst inventions ever made.
I stg it won't release this year (or ever) because of this s***

Did this get pulled? Won’t load for me, and nothing showing up in the Steam Hardware news channel
Edit: nvm I see what you’re referring to in the 2025 year in review. “Hope to ship in 2026 but….” Damn

holy f*** it's so over
i don't even care about these consoles, it's just bullshit that HLX is tied to all this and gonna be delayed for years over something that won't ever be resolved.
I feel like the majority of their customer base won't buy the Steam Machine if it's too expensive and that's the outcome that cannot be avoided right now. I don't know what they expect to change over the course of this year and next year.

AI brought upon the Darkest Timeline
going from "this comes out in under 6 months!" to "idk if we'll be able to release it within a 20 month span"
like do you just scrap the plans atp??
I don't understand why they can't ship the controller? Unless all 3 have to come out at the same time

They probably want the controller to drop with the gabecube for better immersion or something along those lines.
30fps 1080p verified

That’s minimum. I don’t see the problem? Means it is verified to work.
60fps should be minimum for any sort of "verified" tag
its 30 fps so they can make a claim that a lot more games run "verified" than the consumers will actually find as an enjoyable baseline

Next Xbox sounds better tbh can play steam games from the rumors and you can play all the online games like COD, BF, Fortnite that require Anti Cheats that aren't available on Linux and won't be on Steam Machine

Both are going to be priced way too high in the current tech climate. Steam can at least subsidize the machine to a certain point because they got pc nerds library wallets on lockdown. If when they manage to combo in the golden egg of half life 3 itll be a success.
