Well i've watched Cronenberg's The Fly & Videodrome. Cool ideas and the body horror was done really well but the movies were like a solid 7/10 to me, but a lot of other people really feel like these are nearly flawless classic films. And i don't agree

Any other movies by him i could try? like i said didn't think those films were bad but nothing that blew me away either. And those are supposed to be his 2 best films

A lot of Cronenberg's work is like this imo. Great visual but the ideas usually come across somewhat half baked

A History of Violence and Eastern Promises don't seem to go anywhere in terms of story although they have great atmosphere. Naked Lunch was so hyped up and when I watched it I was underwhelmed

Robert Rodriguez's Predators movie was pretty fun. Sure, the plot was essentially Predator but on an alien planet, but that gave opportunity for more deadly creatures, a badass fight with a Yakuza assassin, and the first Predator vs. Predator fight on-screen.

As a guy who like Fantasy movies and movies with a heavy lore behind it.

The Lord Of Rings series is just overrated and unappealing to me, it's just a drawn out, boring story that you won't get unless you understand the lore. Series like Harry Potter are easier to understand cuz the story is straightforward and not complicated,

but LOTR
