Idk how true the rumor is but this started out as it's own show and should've stayed that way. Calling this True Detective made it DOA when expectations for the next season are high justifiably so since they were 2/3 overall (and this makes season 2 look incredible by comparison)

Depending on how bad the second half of this season is I can seriously see this killing True Detective. The main fans feel burned and new casuals aren't even praising it. Neither audience is pleased and unless they have a card up their sleeve I think whatever ending this leads to won't be satisfying at all especially of they go all in on something supernatural in a detective show
