Im also torn on s***ting on your peers work while it’s still in progress, who knows the specific reasons for certain creative decisions, at the same time most of the reverence of the series comes from pizzolatto’s work, & there’s is a clear attempt to piggyback/fan please clapdead:

I’m m just confused on who green lit it. It’s objectively awful writing. Idc if Pizza apart of it or not but at least put effort into it. My tin hat theory is that they green lit it knowing it was ass and then use this season as the reason why they would stop making it.

No one in this show has a distinct point of view and that's the biggest issue with the writing. Not just Pizza's TD seasons but literally every show we think of as good has characters with some sort of philosophy towards life that informs their decisions. When we can't see that u get completely hollow s*** like this, ppl just kind of do stuff but we never rly learn about them. It's so bad lol

The fact that it's TD makes it worse since that's such a big part of what made 1-3 compelling even if other parts sucked. Like the leads always had an interesting outlook on life that was fun to watch.

Navarro is just a joke. Feels s***ty calling out an actor on their freshman performance but it’s so beneath the title of the show. Like sometimes you can barely tell what emotion she’s going for or what she’s trying to convey with her stiff face and monotone voice

The laughable dialogue writing isn’t helping either. The directing/editing is often over-dramatic in those meaningless scenes about the lives of characters we have no good reason to care about, and confusing and silly during the paranormal parts.
