Hbo and chase got me convinced they intentionally only teased Tony's rise in order to set up a series, would be so dope. They could even bring back Tony's dirtbag rivals like Richie and Ralph holy s***

i liked this a lot for what it was. don't think it was ever gonna be that big moment of satisfaction since we are used to much more than a 2 hour film but cool story
Chase highkey shoulda doubled down on this just being a side story about D***ie and left a lot of the fan service out especially since he was not going for the same vibe as the show overall. Doesn't seem like he cared as much about this being a "prequel" as the marketing led on.
Wish we had got more of Bernthal as Johnny Boy
This is like The Sopranos Rebuild
Always been fascinated by the similarities between Evangelion and The Sopranos.
Silvio low key looks younger here than he did in the film

Damn, they did Sil dirty on so many levels in the film.
Not even gonna lie this might be one of the worst movies I’ve ever seen in my life
yeah its not good
what the f*** happened to chase's writing
why are sil and paulie acting like that
michael f***ing killed it tho. heard there will be a prequel about tony's young years too, looking forward to it. if chase doesnt f*** it up again
also wasnt d***ie supposed to be a d*** addict or alcoholic
This movies explanation is that he had the medication for Tony in his pocket when he died & that’s where that rumour perpetuated from

There’s a lot of plot holes and lazy writing from Chase in here, surprisingly

There’s one scene where I think he’s drinking vodka on his driveway in the morning, and then a lot of people are saying the medication found in his pocket. The problem for me is, I don’t feel like these things sinked into his character either way, so I can see it being a rumor Tony’s mom perpetuated. Kinda similar to Tony telling everybody about the car seat at Chris’ memorial.
Ooph is this worth a rewatch? I was disappointed in the movie a lot, but is there anyone who’s seen it twice that found it more rewarding?
This scene right here makes me believe the sopranos coulda easily turned D***y into a posthumous junkie just off a little gossiping, right down to Junior delivering the final word
Classic scene right here that really captures how gossipy mfs up north are, gives me real flashbacks to living in ri

Anyone in this topic calling Sylvios actor a caricature....have you ever watched a single Sylvio scene in the show? That whole characters a friggin caricature, a mugging cartoon character

!https://youtu.be/GpYFlKsIjUcApparently he came all over the sun visor
The dialogue in here was just straight up awful and the writing as well. Wtf was that other Ray Liotta character???

but that was an original character created by Stevie Van Zandt
I mean to be fair it’s an extremely hard role to successfully recast without seeming like a caricature, but they should’ve limited his screen time more
Instead the Silvio we got was like 2 steps above this
