also wasnt d***ie supposed to be a d*** addict or alcoholic

Like a lot of things in the sopranos, that was built off a white lie, at the end of the movie it turns out D***ie got the pills for Tony to give to his mom, but when he was killed it look like the pills were his own, you can even hear Liv at the end talk about how it was sad D***ie was messed up in the head, so then that became the truth, that’s just my opinion tho

Edit: I see someone replied to you with the same thing

D***ie didn't do anything "THAT BAD?".

Like killing his father to f\*\*\* his father's wife to later murder her. On top of how ridiculously racist he was.

I suppose that's the entire ethos of the show, you still like something about these characters despite how vile they are.

    It’s a time period piece
    Tony was “racist” too, it’s a f***ing show/movie

but that was an original character created by Stevie Van Zandt

I mean to be fair it’s an extremely hard role to successfully recast without seeming like a caricature, but they should’ve limited his screen time more

Instead the Silvio we got was like 2 steps above this

Nah Sylvio was JUST as over the top in the show

If you re thinking it's less believable he d be acting that way as a youngster and that old age exasturbated his tendencies that's something to debate but as far as the performance it was just as f***in campy and cartoon mobbish

Is Sil Uncle Junior’s age? Lmao, I usually don’t get hung up on little technicalities like that but that bothered me a lot lol.

The biggest thing too this movie is missing is the clever and humorous dialogue the series had so naturally. Sopranos was as much a comedy as it was a drama imo.

He looks that way due to the premature balding lmao

I think his point is that “of course he has a dislike of black people. So did Tony! Its just a part of the story and should be reflective of the time.”

    I disagree btw

"You know, that move made Tony half a p****, in my estimation"

"Johnny, who's in line for a personality transplant"

There were plenty of killer lines, it just didn't have time for the dialogue heavy scenes of the sopranos since it was a 2 hour movie instead of like 14 hour long episodes

That first scene he was in before he could afford a good wig, that f***in awful combover 🤣🤣🤣 and the scene in the warehouse when his wig is holding on by a thread

parts of this worked well for me, but overall felt lacking in some ways. also hated how it looked. I prefer the OG TV look over this "cinematic" look they went for. I wish this was a HBO miniseries instead

I like how the film portrayed tony's dad. in the show tony and his mom made him out to be some kind of great guy, who did a lot for his family, but here we got to see he how grimy he was. He was just as toxic as Livia

I will say though the scene where Hollywood D***ie was telling that story in the back of Satriales was f***ing great
