    What if its both true that Pac Snoop and BIG / then Em X and Jay / 50 Wayne Ye etc took s*** to a different level but they wouldnt have even been able to do that if not for the work of LL Slick Rick NWA Run DMC etc. If LL DMC etc didn't happen to establish rap as a solid "thing" then you'd be saying what you're saying about them, about Pac and BIG/East West beef lol

    We can do this with anything

    Batman (1989) took s*** to a different level and later the MCU took s*** to an astronomical level but Superman movie from the 70’s had to set the precedent and was probably a big f***in deal in its time

    Media as a whole in every medium exploded in every direction at a crazy pace going from the mid 80's into the late 2000's

    The fact that Cool J wasn't a household name in the 80s wasn't disrespectful to him, he just wasn't. Hip-hop didn't have the reach, and media was consumed differently.

    • Hip-hop was a niche genre until the mid-90s

    • Hip-hop didn't have household names until BIG/Pac and the beef, then after that with social media, internet downloads and streaming.

    • Being unable to see that the way everything is more accessible now because of the internet and NOT BEING ABLE to understand that music/media were consumed differently/more regionally before it thus leading to less global popularity, might actually be a sign of stupidity.

    The fact that we've got grown men arguing against the above is just baffling

    These are lies. Hell, Hammer was a household name and crossed over to an insane level. Basically MJ level for a quick moment in time. Hammer in his peak was bigger than pac or biggie ever were while they were alive

    Big and PAC probably have the longest lasting impact as far as still being household names but that doesn’t mean they were the first.

    Ur coming off pretty stubborn about ur own personal experience but truthfully it isn’t reality.

    Worth noting bigger first week sales than big or pac ever had before or after they passed

    He arguably was never as big again as he was during his debut.
