Severance syndrome
Does severance have 2 classic games tho 😤😤
Severance syndrome
severance s1 better than s2 but the gap is nowhere near close to this shows gap in quality. I watched every ep of severance s2 when it dropped, I wanted eps of TLOU s2 when I got around to them, I felt obligated more to see how the game was adapted rather than cause I was locked into the show

Yeah Nah I feel you. I never played the games though so I was just going off of what they wrote for the characters. There's like a good two episodes where I was skipping about and just didn't care. Which is wild because I dug season 1.
As far as severance 2 goes, I liked it when it leaned more into the paranoid sci-fi thriller more than the cult elements, which I don't care for at all, generally speaking. Like yeah, Lumen at its core (from S1), was venerated to a point where cult-like tendencies were inevitable. I just didn't find it all that interesting this time around. If season one was a line jutting forward, season 2 is that same line slowed all the way down, but thickening.
imo you can’t really look at the TLOU2 story and think “hmmm I can fix this” . Because once you try to make those changes, you’ll just make a less interesting version of its story
Whenever I see people online try to rewrite the story, it always ends up being far less interesting and creative
That’s what Mazin has done here lmao
It’s not a revenge story now, I don’t know what season 2 was supposed to be about. A rom-com?
He’s focused on the wrong things and undermined the core of the game - Joel and Ellie’s relationship.
Which is fine, but then leaning into the game which has a different dynamic and tone makes for terrible viewing.
37 million but maybe 18.5 million thought it was bad
They don’t care about that unfortunately. But we know now that the writing will be terrible moving forward. Our only saving grace is that Devers will be a good protagonist imo
absolutely puzzling and at times horrendous season of television
Craig Mazin had the opportunity here to take a highly polarized story, flip things on its head, modify it/reinforce it, literally do whatever he had to do to make it better than how it came across in the game. And yet he somehow made it worse.
Chernobyl was a fluke
Druckman not pushing back on some things is what’s disappointing tbh.

Whenever druckmann directing an episode and got writing credits it’s usually good too… damn… maybe we need druck fully in charge but I just think he’s too busy with other s***

Hopefully busy with TLOU 3
niggas think this is gonna get cancelled lol yall outta yalls minds
It’s not getting cancelled lmfao it still has more viewers by a LARGE MARGIN than any of their other shows and has a lower budget than HOTD 😭
niggas think this is gonna get cancelled lol yall outta yalls minds
Why would it get canceled? The ones that dont like it are watching it every week
Fair
I just read that the viewership has dropped 55% from season 1’s finale
Dam
Dam
ignore max sub numbers down by 20 million from S1 and this aired on memorial day weekend and it has almost DOUBLE the viewers of HOTD S2

Nice, im watching episode 4 rn
Everything in Jackson was done way better than the game, very fleshed out and a lot of character. Everything in Seattle has felt like they're just checking boxes from the game. This really needed to be a 10 episode season and spend more time in Seattle
pretty much yea
szn 3 2032 lol wtf why
Gives them time to right the ship
Season 3 2032 only 5 episodes btw

I strongly feel that season 1 hit hard because of the pandemic and Covid lock down
The real problem is clearly the fact that all these shows are obsessed with shorter seasons
