I'm giving s2 like a 6.5 tho
Felt very low stakes cause you knew Ellie was getting saved every time she was in a pinch
Tried so hard to like it but S2 was just not very good
I don’t recall Ellie being this annoying in the game yall
absolutely puzzling and at times horrendous season of television
Craig Mazin had the opportunity here to take a highly polarized story, flip things on its head, modify it/reinforce it, literally do whatever he had to do to make it better than how it came across in the game. And yet he somehow made it worse.
Chernobyl was a fluke

TLOU2 story didn’t need any major fixing.
The story doesn’t work if it’s not polarizing.
The pacing and structure of the game is integral to the core of the story. And that is why whenever you stray away from the source material, the overall story suffers
imo you can’t really look at the TLOU2 story and think “hmmm I can fix this” . Because once you try to make those changes, you’ll just make a less interesting version of its story
Whenever I see people online try to rewrite the story, it always ends up being far less interesting and creative
Season 1 hit a mode in the world because of Covid
Season did not hit much and was to drawn out.
Joel dying/the attack on town, and the episode with flashbacks of Joel’s life is all I am taken with me
Could see the show being cancelled more a season 3
It’s not going to get cancelled. It’s still doing far better numbers than the majority of shows on tv

I just read that the viewership has dropped 55% from season 1’s finale

https://twitter.com/screenrant/status/192709555620088670537 million but maybe 18.5 million thought it was bad
37 million but maybe 18.5 million thought it was bad
But a large portion will still be tuning in for season 3, just like a lot of people itt
HBO won’t cancel this show just because it’s controversial, they care about those viewership ratings

Yea no chance it gets canceled but 100% chance s2 was absolute d***
Fair

O yea the show definitely took a big hit with viewership . But the show was doing GIANT numbers in season 1, so the +50% drop isn’t as devastating as it would be for a lot of other shows .
Season 1 was bigger than House of The Dragon

The guy wrote and directed the beloved classic Superhero Movie, how could he ever fail us?!
it wouldve been so interesting if they switched up and Ellie ran through the door first and died lol
Dina revenge tour wouldve been crazy
Tried so hard to like it but S2 was just not very good

they made Jesse a d***head too
& their relationship in Seattle unnecessarily toxic
Ngl I think they realized they realistically couldn't make Bella as intimidating as Ellie in the game so they tried writing around it
they leaned in way too hard. Either way season wasn't terrible as people are saying some great moments but def not HBO level quality.
Season 2 was solid but definitely a step down from season 1.
Having better hopes for Season 3 knowing Kaitlyn Dever will provide a great performance and the set pieces for Abby's part from the game.

You easily could make her intimidating in the show if they actually shown her to lead by example.
Tone down the fear in your face while shooting. You’ve ever known this type of world so the thought of dying is scary but she’s been through hundreds scenarios like this.
Have her actually be the saver in a scene. So many times this season she gets the upper hand and someone has to finish the job or she looks completely clueless.
A simple one was towards the start when she tried to choke out the guard. Have her just stab him in the throat. Enemy down and you shown you can do it.
I’m all for her not being the best with directions but when it comes to violence it has to be her that looks like the best.
this season missed the mark by a lot, its passable and not great/amazing like it shoudlve been.thankful we got a classic first season in the can before this began to nosedive
