Played the first like 45 mins of the game a few hours before the premiere.
Are the game fans approving so far?
It’s getting approval from game fans and non game fans alike. Praise everywhere.
I don’t feel like reading every page of this thread, thoughts on the pilot? @ShintaroKago @Kr0niic
If you ask el chapo it’s a 7/10 and he’s not watching anymore until it’s over so he can binge

I enjoyed the watch but it was probably TOO close to me playing the game. It was weird rewatching it all twice in two mediums in two hours.
Beyond that, idk. Seemed like standard zombie apocalypse fare. Nothing special yet, and I don’t know the story, but I’ll continue watching.
Tryna see where all this budget went besides extras and sets.

I don’t think it’s bingable tbh like nothing about that episode screamed fast food content
I liked it overall and was invested pretty quick wbu

Loved every second of it. They are doing this story justice
wait is this just the game's story?
The podcast was a great insight on how this got pitched
Craig and Neil met at naughty dog due to Shannon Woodward (who voices Dina) setting them up as Neil said he loves Chernobyl, and she knows him due to HBO connects.
They met and hit it off and talked about how Neil tried to make tlou a movie but failed due to not being able to cut it down to movie length.
Craig said it should be a show… Neil then asked how do you pitch it to hbo and would it be hard…
Craig says “easy, we just walk across the street and tell them I want it to me my next show”
Within a week of Craig and Neil meeting they pitch it to HBO and get approval

Same she barely had any screen time here so I’m sure she’ll get better later on
Love small Easter eggs like this

This is like an episode of mad men lmao
I loved the first ep. Ofcourse they stayed extremely faithful which makes it an automatic hit in my eyes, but everything, including deviations to make the story flow better, fit so well together.
Watching their relationship grow is gonna be a blast.

I mean 1 episode in — and it being the episode where they have to give context to / set up the spread of the infection — of course it’s going to have that feeling.
Thing about TLOU in my opinion though is the further and further the story progresses the more and more irrelevant infected become to the narrative. Won’t take long for it to lose the typical “zombie vibe”
