Im here thinking like, this year we get season 1 portraying the story from the first game, then next year we season 2 portraying the 2nd game, and then season 3 gets released with Tlou 3 in 2025

Craig and Neil said part 2 would be more than 1 season

Makes sense, that game was packed.
Nothing, just would have been cool.
this a testament to the world building. i would’ve loved to have seen more of LA in Blade Runner 2049 but it woulda been a waste of screen time to gratuitously explore. every crevice you see explored is in service to the story, otherwise you’re just meandering with limited screen time
I’m surprised they didn’t dive into anything that happened in the 20 years between Texas and the QZ in Boston. I figured they would’ve at least a little bit, or at least show more of the QZ
Oh they will trust me
yeah that was great. It is pretty much the story from the game so far lol but I'm interested to see what kind of new depth they can add to the already very compelling story
will say that the two leads are perfectly cast. as soon as the two of them got together I was smiling. like THAT is Ellie
its a marathon not a race at this point
TWD is legendary for its drop in quality after the first season
Eh I’m not tryna do a hardcore comparison. Just a general apocalyptic comparison.
And you gassing it. TWD fye for the first 6 seasons. 7-8 a drop off, 9-11 entertaining tv. Season 5 Rick Grimes might be my favorite apocalyptic character ever
Makes sense as a game adaption
Gotta think from a game designers perspective. After that initial prologue, Is the “tutorial” with very loose plot and teaching the player the controls. Games tend to try not to introduce a lot of plot while the player is learning the controls. The episode ends here where the tutorial really ends, and tbf the Robert part is the least interesting thing of the whole game lol
I’ve never played the games, so I’m going into this more or less blind.

Well not trying to d*** ride and hype it up…. But it’s only up from here if they are following the story beats
Still have no idea what they are cooking up for episode 3
I like the little things the game implied, that were expanded on and shown in the show
For example, the scene with Tess getting jumped by Robert and gang. We are introduced to Tess in the game by her saying she was jumped by them. They elaborated and added that into the show.
That’s where the show can deviate. The game is only told from Joel and Ellie’s POV. We can see the game from other perspectives as things play out
when bill shows up
when bill shows up
Not sure if you read any of the reviews but if you wanna be spoiler free don’t click I guess that’s where they say they deviate hard…. But all the critics are saying it’s the best episode

After Negan it turns to dogshit sadly

First 3 seasons twd was good
my only gripe is the reveal at the end of the episode. felt way rushed how they handled their reactions.
I don’t feel like reading every page of this thread, thoughts on the pilot? @ShintaroKago @Kr0niic
Played the first like 45 mins of the game a few hours before the premiere.
Are the game fans approving so far?

Worst hour of television ever and we are writing letters to hbo to cancel it.
