Im here thinking like, this year we get season 1 portraying the story from the first game, then next year we season 2 portraying the 2nd game, and then season 3 gets released with Tlou 3 in 2025

this a testament to the world building. i would’ve loved to have seen more of LA in Blade Runner 2049 but it woulda been a waste of screen time to gratuitously explore. every crevice you see explored is in service to the story, otherwise you’re just meandering with limited screen time

And you gassing it. TWD fye for the first 6 seasons. 7-8 a drop off, 9-11 entertaining tv. Season 5 Rick Grimes might be my favorite apocalyptic character ever

Makes sense as a game adaption
Gotta think from a game designers perspective. After that initial prologue, Is the “tutorial” with very loose plot and teaching the player the controls. Games tend to try not to introduce a lot of plot while the player is learning the controls. The episode ends here where the tutorial really ends, and tbf the Robert part is the least interesting thing of the whole game lol

I like the little things the game implied, that were expanded on and shown in the show
For example, the scene with Tess getting jumped by Robert and gang. We are introduced to Tess in the game by her saying she was jumped by them. They elaborated and added that into the show.
That’s where the show can deviate. The game is only told from Joel and Ellie’s POV. We can see the game from other perspectives as things play out

Not sure if you read any of the reviews but if you wanna be spoiler free don’t click I guess that’s where they say they deviate hard…. But all the critics are saying it’s the best episode

First 3 seasons twd was good
