Profit-sharing is a commission. If the profits are the same every month u can consider it a salary since the source is stable. The reality is none of these guys are cooperate and using words interchangeably when they mean different things.

I agree. In the interest of friendship and team morale, he should have shared the information. But his logic is he doesn't have to and they are ungrateful if it is true that he paying them using his own money to keep them earning.

I have a side business with two friends and we split everything evenly. It's has kept things simple. Because if the revenue is a lot one will become disgruntled seeing lots revenue come in with a smaller take. Two of us work harder than one guy which is annoying as f*** but our terms were agreed upon before revenue. We will probably buy him out at some point.
