If equity was something that was important to him and Joe had denied him equity early on, then he shouldnt have came on the pod.

When you wait until the podcast is in the process of blowing up to do this, you run into alot of problems.

Savon and Ericsson definitely dont deserve equity lol Maybe Parks. They are workers and they know that. They perform a specific service and are compensated accordingly. Apparently very well because no one else is complaining.

Mal and Rory are workers but think they're something else apparently

Joe is the center piece and is the one thats bringing the revenue, taking meetings, and handling business s***. If Rory and Mal contributed on that level and negotiated, then they would have a strong case for equity.

But those dudes just come in and go home. Being a boss and having ownership in something is more than that.

You consume too much Joe budden and Akademiks propaganda

    Zero

Joe gave them ideas for their own shows and told Mal to make the merch, they would have their own money if they took his advice lol

Yeah i mean i feel like they might've had opportunities to branch out in the pod world but they didn't want to, but now that their connection to it got sour they don't really have other podcast s*** to go to

The way he does things, he's convinced himself that his perspective is absolute, and speaks so authoritatively on it to where he "sounds" right

So he's a sociopath pretty much lol

so you understand how he was wrong in the complex and spotify situations then?

    he wasnt

and thats what ppl don't understand

Joe was in the same position Rory and Mal was in but the difference is he had a strong case because him and AK made everyday struggle what it is. You could make a case they both deserve equity since the show was their idea and the value they brought in.

Even with that, he understood that he was an employee. It wasn't until he investigated and everyday struggle became one of the biggest hip hop platforms at the time that he saw his true worth

Joe left and tested that theory and he was correct. The numbers went down and sponsors backed out until eventually the show ended.

But Complex was within their right to deny him the numbers too because HE WAS AN EMPLOYEE.

He did the same thing with Spotify and guess what, it landed him an executive position at Patreon. He put in the work.

Mal and Rory can't do that. They don't bring what AK or Joe brought to Everyday Struggle. They overestimated their worth.

They tried to dip and found out they were easily replaceable.

    masterclasses about what lmaoo

that nigga was a valuable employee who did help the podcast but that doesnt mean he deserves ownership.

Well... I mean they ought to want ownership in the place they work and give a certain value, at least some

I just think the fact that the pod is Joe's , and no one else's, was obscured when "With Rory and Mal" was added...

They probably didn't want to believe that Joe was gonna be this hardline about them working together, they probably felt connected to it and that Joe might've been open to sharing it.

Joe seems to be about ownership, for himself. Total ownership, not shared ownership, there might be some holes to what he's been preaching but, I mean... they just might've been blinded by being too close to the subject at hand to see it for what it was, and joe for who he is

And he left after his contracts had expired at both Complex and Spotify.

They went on strike mid contract.

"But that's not all. Budden has also been hired as Patreon's Head of Creator Equity, a paid advisory role in which he will help the platform create programs and policies that benefit creators."
