Bro I am dying laughing. That is amazing.
love you is hella crazy. brian is all from the heart. He is not trying to be profound or odd or trying to calculate a masterpiece using anything other than heart.
!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MJcfeD9IvQA!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8r_TtJxLfCgso in my reply to this post i mentioned how idid some post in another thread recollecting about this and the context behind and that i would prolly post it here too so if you interested, iāll rewrite it to adjust it, i donāt like to go back to such thing because itās beyond dark and sad and i donāt wanna bring that energy but, for archival purpose and to clear some facts, here we go:
the famous ācocaine sessionsā dates back from 1982 and only contains brian and dennis jamming in rehearsal room, all we got are bootlegs
1982 might be bottom brian wilson health speaking, people make a myth out of the stuff post pet sounds, he was actually fine post pet sounds, he still produced and wrote original new songs for wild honey, friends.. it was only after sunflower which REALLY flopped Ike pet sounds we talking issues of the album barely making the top ten which isnāt as bad in retrospective (and it was a hit in uk anyway where it went n2) while sunflower only got to 151 on the top 100 billboard and at 40 for the uk (however it went top 10 for the dutch, go figure lol) so that was what hurt brian bad and from there on truly started a downfall mental health speaking, his disappearance and staying in bed...
but it was a progression, and by my judgement it peaked in 1982, a year before dennis tragic death: no one seems to find a way to save brian whatsoever, he grew his nails extremely long (altho that can sound like some irrelevant detail, imo if you add this up with all the other things, staying in bed all day etc really helps to paint a picture of how isolated he was and neglected he was living)and refused to take showers in fear of satan coming out the shower head to kill him, he was hearing voices too, from satan

(i hate to show this but this is what he looked like back then and is i think the worse photo you can find of brian...)
but dennis admired his brother brian more than anyone else on this planet (posted some several quotes of him about brian some page ago or so) and he tried, he had to try something, anything to get brian active, even if it meant to be a trick, brian had to do something.
and so dennis came up with a perfect deal: he would get brian free hamburgers and cocaine under ONE condition: brian had to show up at a rehearsal room in order to get them.
and it worked, itās sad, but it worked.
this is why listening to āoh lordā with this backstory in mind is a absolutely heartbreaking, the song may be about a kid praying, but who is to say that kid isnāt brian himself, projecting: to me this song and recording is the absolute core definition of a sos message in a bottle thrown in the ocean put into music, a chant of desperation of a man tormented by his demons crying for help

but brian made it out and came back strong, hereās a great justice type beat song to celebrate it in homage to brian, comes along with a very cool video!
