Matt only makes 1 movie at a time. He said last time he didn't know if he'll have a sequel yet even tho it was clear WB loved his sequel pitch ideas and had spin-off in development. They just wait for the green light once reviews and box office numbers come in, and build from there accordingly. He would never talk about 3 now because the 2nd is the only priority until 2027. These aren't predetermined plots and villains. Its like when Denis threw out uncertainty on Dune 2
WB/DC isn't letting Reeves, Rob and their biggest CBM franchise just stop. Part II is already one of the most anticipated films in Hollywood and seems intentionally slated for awards season. At bare minimum he's making 3 films.
Reminds me of when they made TDK with the mindset that it could’ve been the very last film of that Bat-verse
Is Reeves going full on horror for this one?
Which Batman villain would be considered scary

We getting Scarecrow again Arkham Knight style

Hugo Strange since it’s someone that’s never been done?

Oh true about Scarecrow.. Yeah it would be somewhat slightly disappointing to have the same villains from the Nolan-verse.
Speaking of which, Reeves’ Joker does look creepy

One potential issue with this kind of portrayal is: can it sustain a whole movie or will his act get old???

This doesn't really help us though. Every single option can be bent towards some "scary" angle. Like Riddler was already done in a creepier way than he's normally depicted

Idk if I would associate horror with Hugo Strange tbh, but with the right actor they can make him a formidable figure..
Dave Bautista

Sure but it’s fun to speculate about Batman’s rich lore
We gotta dig more on who would make for an interesting potential 3 hour detective film. These are about Bruce/Batman trying to figure out who this person doing XYZ is and some overlap with his life or Gotham.
Riddler only got 20 minutes of screen time and Reeves said pre-Emmys villains aren't going to dominate his films like they have previous Batman sequels. What character could occupy such small space but have actions that dominate the film? And is one who hasn't "really" been done in a film?
My hope is still Phantasm (or Reaper which its based off).
Really feel like both have natural overlaps with Bruce becoming more of a socialite, "finding it hard to be Batman" (as Reeves has mentioned) and not being done in (live action) film before.

make phantasm be a talon like assassin for the court of owls and give penguin jokers role in her story
Crazy how this ended up being The Smashing Machine
Colin talking about this like it's the second coming of Christ

I’m not finna cry in theatres over a Batman movie
Agreed
They got unlucky having the March date and nearly a year passed before it was time for the ceremony. Frazier also won the Oscar for Dune Pt 1 right around the time The Batman released. They could have given him a nom again but they also weren't pressed and i don't think he was by this point either.
I feel like a lot of this is why they're insistent on an October date this time no matter what. WB won't let this move from awards season
