watching it back
the reckless dog bit was getting too much
Especially when he was hitting Luthor. He easily could have killed him. Didn't like how passive Superman was when it came to krypto.

not sure if I would be anything other than passive if I was taking care of someone else's dog tbh, but I don't disagree with him being too passive towards Krypto
Any of you see it in Imax?
Lowkey not sure if the her and Green Lantern were necessary at all. I understand it’s about the idea of a lived in universe but eh
Hawkgirl probably not needed but I feel like Green Lantern added a decent amount to this
Thought Krypto was used perfectly tbh
Wish we had more Clark scenes and it was a bit longer. Wonder if they cut some stuff just cause they didn’t want the first DCU movie to be super long.

Is this you?
no, she's just really insightful about comic book history and breaking down superhero movies in an aesthetically pleasing and easily digestible visual format
on the movie or the imax experience?
Movie
Movie
It's all I could have asked for. All I've been wanting is a movie that the majority of audiences will say "yeah this is good" and then proceed from there. DC characters are all so rich that it deserves a properly handled cinematic (mostly live action) universe.
I didn't think Superman was perfect by any means —nor did it have to be—but it gives me hope knowing there is the right amount of care, attention, and desire for these stories to shine.
My favorite moments were when Superman was in the Fortress of Solitude, or when he was dealing with Lex directly. I can't really say I needed Hawkgirl at all in this, or Guy Gardner (although I'm not mad at him being in it as it was really fun in every scene). I also wasn't the biggest fan of the time period spent in the pocket universe / dimension but that's nitpicking. I didn't go into this expecting the greatest superhero movie ever. This movie was enjoyable despite all of that.
Having to establish this universe already being lived in is a tall task for the first Superman movie to do, but I can't say it wasn't done about as well as it it could have been. I'm grateful that this movie exists and hopeful for future iterations in this franchise and the DCU overall to have even better films.
Side note: I truly believe Supergirl will be the best project out of the upcoming slate for the DCU.
Yall ain’t like the pocket universe? I thought it was nuts to see Lex casually walk through a portal in the first new DCU movie. Bold and established that DC comics is being bought to life. No origins are necessary at this point. The world is funky and unreal.
I’m ngl that’s one of my fav parts of the movie. Again felt like an episode of JLU with Supes, Metamorpho, Lex and Mr Terrific and Lois.

Honestly couldn't tell you directly why, but I guess I was less interested during that time in the movie if that makes sense. I'm seeing it again on Friday so who knows maybe I'll enjoy it more then
The supershit monkeys are real??
Stuff like this is what kinda soured me on the film. It's not funny it's just too f***ing goofy. Like Gunn can't help but do this kinda stuff in his scripts. He turned Lex into a cartoon

Don't know what yall expected
Hes never made a serious movie in his life and has to put Cornball jokes in every scene
I figured Kara would be in here but it was actually really exciting to see her in the flesh. Suit is absolutely perfect

This is exactly what I wanted. Don’t waste years of our lives like marvel did waiting to see the full realization of these characters and world.
superman was pretty weak until the end imo
i liked krypto other than the lex part. feels like first half of the movie was Gunn avoiding his Gunn humor but it ended up coming out during the 2nd half
loved lois lane, they made their relationship great and special
7.5/10 kinda a 8

“he turned Lex into a cartoon” about a literal comic book character is an insane criticism
he got b****ed for like 70% of this movie. that's my biggest complaint.
also i dont like what they did with his krypton parents. i thought that was wack. was like ego and yondu again.
Lex was the best part. Nigga started crying because he lost to superman. he deadass hated that man so much
