An eventual Smash movie should feel fun, yes, but it shouldn’t feel like fluff. It should feel epic.
This should feel like the new MCU.
Whatever they decide to do, I just hope they at least attempt at improving in areas fairly critiqued.
Like halfway through the journey, I'm literally catching myself thinking "man this is boring as hell." That should not be happening as a longtime Mario enjoyer.
If Shrek and Nemo can do it in their movies, I have some faith that they can get it together for the next film.

I definitely think they can make something better. Now that they’ve got the setup, they just need to focus in, make something with a genuine sense of danger and adventure.
I’m not holding my breath tho…

Yeah, a little disheartening but other times I was FULLY in. Every side scrolling scene, action was great. I feel corny being picky about the plot/story of a Mario movie but… here I am.
Also, it was visually insane. Should have seen in 3d.

Yeah, there was definitely moments, like the side scrolling, throwing the shells, invincibility… Moments that had the feel of the games and that was cool.

Idk I just don't understand the criticism, it's a kids movie no need to have 10 minute scenes and tons of dialogue
Tons of Pixar and DreamWorks movies even at similar lengths have been paced better
And the scenes don’t need to be heavy on dialogue
