When you really think about it, the end of this is just a worse version to the end of the first season.
Basically the same major plot points happen
i thought the season as a whole was ass. but i really don't get the outrage about the ending, it was as good as it was gonna be, they even killed the main character man
how are people not satisfied
They’re 100% gonna bring El back in the spinoff (if post-S5) to help the new cast in some way before giving her an official death.
They better give this man his Emmy.
Fantastic work from him all season
Over Bill Skarsgard as Pennywise??

if that happens, the current ending automatically goes from good to awful
Nigga collapsed after the demo got hit by a damn car but when the mind flayer and Vecna f***ing dies there's no reaction from him at all
Same season btw

Not me realizing that the ending is so similar to Season 1 because Season 1 was intended to just be an 8 episode mini series so the Duffers stayed true to how they wanted the show to end in the first place

Tbh this guy absolutely deserves the Emmy more than Bill man. I think he did a great job, he also played multiple characters. Not sure if the academy look at screen time but I’m factoring it in as well lol, Jamie had a big role to play in most episodes compared to bill only having like 20 mins all together in the whole season. Bill was great too but I think Jamie Campbell knocked it out the park on this one
Then again Derry was critically acclaimed and this ST season was panned all aboard so they’ll probably nominate more IT stuff 🤷🏽♂️

This
They literally cannot make a sequel/spin off if they want to leave the interpretive ending in tact just like how Inception did it

Totally forgot about El's "fate" in the season 1 finale

Good point
I thought the finale as a whole was mid, but the ending scenes with the whole gang were 10/10 and a great emotional payoff.
The mindflayer/Vecna fight was 1/10 tho.
Still, the show ending leaves a kind of a void, honestly feels like this might be one of the last shows that will truly grip the whole world like it did, it started in that sweet spot of the mid 2010s when it was still possible to fully insert yourself in the cultural zeitgeist as a TV show, you basically had two streaming services that were popular and that’s it. Think it’s gonna be a long time before a show becomes a cultural behemoth like this one, honestly. And, for that - massive props to the Duffer bros.

Facts on the monoculture of it
