There really haven’t been any post-Stranger Things

Also gaming is an entirely different beast than television, gaming is much more popular as a medium than television is

It’s been 10 years since Stranger Things debuted and there hasn’t been a single show to come anywhere near its’ level of popularity, like not even remotely close

Closest one was Squid Game but they basically lost all of that momentum after Season 1

Gaming has huge blockbuster releases every single year

Thats the thing it doesn't need to be now. It doesn't even need to be 10 years from now. But it will happen

I don’t see it happening in the streaming era

There’s just way too many apps and subscriptions and shows airing all at once

Stranger Things was only possible because it debuted right at the advent of streaming

Before our death beds lets reconvene here and see how it all played out

I never said there never be another one, I just said it’s extremely unlikely in the streaming era

It’s been ten years and there have been zero, meanwhile before streaming there used to be a new water cooler show every 1-2 years

We went from Lost to Breaking Bad to The Walking Dead to Game of Thrones to Stranger Things in the span of a single decade

Most media will have AI slop sprinkled in within 5-10 years, I highly doubt we’ll see anything as impactful

i was defending this show as decently consistent and then i watched the first episode of season 5 and i was like wow it's very hard to care about this

finale sounds cool tho, might have to give it another try

It was good, not spectacular but good. A nice send off to everyone after all the suffering in the previous seasons

The color of the other world and the fact Winona Ryder was there made me remind of this

Part of the charm was watching them figure out acting as kids but now as adults you expect them to do good

I thought they ended it well, it was going to be hard to wrap it up nicely but it went as well as it could have. More deaths or grim endings might have set the tone better. The only thing that pissed me off was how fast they scaled that mountain and will no longer being connected to vecna when they put the paws on him

Ngl I got teary eyed multiple throughout . Can’t believe after all this time we’re finally saying goodbye to these characters.

Also you know who definitely isn’t dead , Mike was making some sense.
