What is this site
This is probably the best sounding record she’s ever made.
Like damn, she just needs to produce her own s*** from now on.

compared to how overrated her last two albums were this deserves better reviews but for an artist that has been in the spotlight since 2007 this is very good.

It’s currently tied with S/T on Metacritic.
Honestly I think it’s a combination of her longevity and consistency. A lot of critics seem to pine for some kind of narrative outside of the music itself. The decline, the fall off, the comeback.
I mean, look at Pitchfork and how they seem to treat their former darlings new releases (though from what I understand the site is basically only Pitchfork in name compared to what it was in the 2000s and early 2010s).
after five full listens I’m still not ready to put this over Daddy’s Home but still another stellar album from Annie and one of my fav releases from this year so far. Production is fully realized on every song
favs: Broken Man, Big Time Nothing, Violent Times and Sweetest Fruit album doesn’t have any skips tho
Big Time Nothing gives me Madonna vibes
i like it more on the second listen. play it LOUD
she just didn't put a hook at all on Violent Times. could've been one of the better tracks lol
