what’s socialism/communism to you? i’m curious. I imagine we differ here.

i see it as an organization of society without exploitation and unjust expropriation of resources. also from a social level would be the organization of social relations to be about mutual aid and granting people as much of the value of their own production as possible. as a nonwhite indigenous person, i would like to see the organization of advanced society to return to a non-mass violence based and non-mass disinformation based world.

i don't prescribe to any particular ideology as im in the us and there are no practical socialist experiments being conducted. i read theory to understand how i take the correct ideological orientation and to help me understand where i can apply myself, but im still working on application through practice itself, which imo is incomparably more significant than theory.

it's hard to say exactly as the soviet experiment lead to the development of the Dengist style current governing style of the CPC, which - while arguably a standard state-capitalist state until the past 10 or so years - under Xi's lead has utilized the theory of MLism correctly and as things continue it will be hard to really say whether they have failed until they have.

but reading Chinese theory I am convinced that the CPC is still on the correct ideological path to a successful socialist experiment and it'll take a while to truly see whether it pans out.

i do think, while rhetoric alone is meaningless, being presented with both correct rhetoric and correct action should be taken into account when condemning china.

    chinese theory recommendations?

    chinese theory recommendations?

selected works of deng xiaoping led me from an anti-dengist to a deng supporter lmao

i really want to dig thru the selected works of mao though. everything ive read by him has been great and choking talks a lot about how great his writing is. also The Governance of China by Xi apparently is a good book. also this is a nice piece that really ironed out my understanding of the CPC's perspective marxists.org/subject/china/documents/cpc/history/01.htm

lmao yeah I love Mao, maybe due to me being really into reading fiction a lot before theory, so writing style and how you use and phrase ur words end up being very entertaining to me. Just look a this

"Physical education complements education in virtue and knowledge. Moreover, both virtue and knowledge reside in the body. Without the body there would be neither virtue nor knowledge. Those who understand this are rare. People stress either knowledge or morality. Knowledge is certainly valuable, for it distinguishes man from animals. But wherein is knowledge contained? Morality, too, is valuable; it is the basis of the social order and of equality between ourselves and others. But where does virtue reside? It is the body that contains knowledge and houses virtue. It contains knowledge like a chariot and houses morality like a chamber. The body is the chariot that contains knowledge, the chamber that houses virtue. "

Beautifully written its like if Edgar Allan Poe wasn't a depressed proto-loser. Personally not a fan of Deng or Xi but if theres anything that ive learned from internet arguments is that there the worst way possible to change someones opinion, I agree with Mao on em "Marxism in word, Bourgeois in essence". Even if you disagree on that be applied to Deng, god damn does Mao know how to sound good, guess the teachers college paid off for him.

same im interested in China still, I guess im more lenient on the "revisionism" that occurred in China than other Maoists, I still have tiny hope that maybe im wrong and just committing a far left error and China after all still plans on being Socialist at least by 2050, as the other option is that we're all doomed to neoliberalism, and that if any new socialist project emerges like some Maoist group wins, would be hard to predict no one expected a communist revolution in Russia in 1914 would happen anytime soon but we seen what happened, that the Maoists arent too dogmatic about diplomacy with what they believed to be revisionist states.

I know all of the "Governance of China" volumes are that but I thought he may have had some full books. I could be wrong though
