same im interested in China still, I guess im more lenient on the "revisionism" that occurred in China than other Maoists, I still have tiny hope that maybe im wrong and just committing a far left error and China after all still plans on being Socialist at least by 2050, as the other option is that we're all doomed to neoliberalism, and that if any new socialist project emerges like some Maoist group wins, would be hard to predict no one expected a communist revolution in Russia in 1914 would happen anytime soon but we seen what happened, that the Maoists arent too dogmatic about diplomacy with what they believed to be revisionist states.

I think Xi has shocked the world many times over with his recent crackdowns. They were and will be inevitable, but their frequency and magnitude under his leadership has been a stark contrast to those of past leaders in the CPC.

I think the annihilation of the private tutoring industry is understated despite people's awareness of it. It is not only oriented at punishing profiteers; it represents an ideological shift away from disunion and orientation towards equilibrium. The ramifications will be massive. Furthermore it shows Xi is aware of how China's unforgivingly difficult school system leads to collateral damage in people's social lives.

We are going to see a lot more Jack Ma's and Evergrande's in the future. Xi is going to keep pulling the trigger. People are going to doubt him and while I am not against skepticism I am very suspicious of how people in the West are capable of connecting the dots so easily and somehow coming to the conclusion that China is doing nothing at all (not saying you are, but keep your eyes peeled comrade). The US has been begging China to slow down its oil purchases from Iran recently. Maybe Westerners are jaded that they're being left behind?

I’m on a long train ride rn so I’ll do some posting in here

I think one of the biggest issues that Marxism faces as a science is that it is forever trapped in the period of Marx. For some reason it’s difficult for people to conceptualize marxism/leninism through a modern lens and instead resort to imagining going back in time

    disagree
Neocolonialism / unequal exchange exists and marxist theorists add it to their a***ysis as well. This is something that hardly existed in Marx / lenin / maos time

People have no problem defending the constitution though

    Yes,
Primarily I’m referring to conversations I’ve had with non Marxists about the ideology
A lot of their rebuttals are based on the notion that application of Marxism means we roll the clock back to the 19th century

I find that the people I have spoken to have a difficult time understanding Marxism as a science that can be applied to the current situation

    I think it’s partially a PR thing

The constitution has maintained relevance with many politicians throughout the years and even currently of course

Who’s the last big profile Marxist ? Castro ? Morales ?

    hence "Repack"

and I've had right wingers call me a tankie before. The one that stands out the most was a guy who said he would've supported Nazi Germany if that meant killing soviets

Like frequently calling successful communist countries "tyrannical." Both the same points but one "non-tankie" cries "not real socialism!" while a "right winger" would say that's what happens under communism.

If you call people tankies, you still haven't unlearned anti-communist propaganda

when I say “tankie” i’m referring solely to “leftist’s” that cape for authoritarian state’s because they’re confused on what communism is supposed to mean.
