Just rewatched both yesterday

Good Time is a classic for me, perfect film from start to finish

This a great movie as well but i still wasn’t nearly as interested in the main protagonist and his drama compared to the story of Connie

Yeah maybe if you seen like 30 films in your life

He was just more interesting to me because of Pattinson’s performance. Felt so raw and grimey. Also the side characters in Good Time are a lot more interesting to me as well, where i have a hard time remembering the ones in Uncut Gems

Oh yeah and that score of Good Time, one of my favs of the past decade for sure

The whole situation with his disabled brother and how they handled that part of the story in the background was also done so well and just hit me much more in the feels than Howards obsession with gambling

I really liked the acid story recap montage told by the dude in the cab but gems had too many memorable moments for me. From the opening scene transitioning to Howard, the weeknd’s performance (gorgeously shot), the 2010s nostalgia, how the stone bleeds into kg’s story and all of this is tied together and squeezing itself into palpable tension.

I mean i can see why people would pick Uncut over Good Time, they’re both shot extremely well and in the same type of style, the characters and emotional depth that Good Time has just makes it a clear favorite for me personally
