yeah I've been saying this reminds me a lot of the BVS theatrical cut, there are a lot of missing pieces and the whole thing just doesn't flow properly, you get told so much information but you're never shown it

story-wise f*** no but i think it would help with some emotional beats in the movie and i want to see an extended kylo raiding mustafar

Dropping the ball on the knights of ren
Not taking risks with character deaths like Chewie or 3PO
Rose being thrown to the sidelines when she could have been Bi representation instead of the soulless lgbt rep with background characters

they really did Finn the dirtiest this whole trilogy.

Really felt like in TFA that it could have been a shared protagonist trilogy with him and Rey. squandered it, they didn’t even try to re-introduce his romantic feelings for Rey.

Like it’s pretty clear he has some throughout the whole trilogy

RISE OF THE FIRST ORDER (pt 1)

• Two months since THE FORCE AWAKENS
• Finn is more of a badass now and has a buddy cop thing with Poe as the two (along with Chewie, R2D2, BB8 and C3PO) go around the galaxy on Captain America and Falcon esque missions
• Rey has been training with Master Luke Skywalker; beyond the mountains of the Jedi temple is Shire esque community of homely alien creatures and force sensitive families; Luke has become a guilt ridden hermit but he still has the giddy optimism in his Gandalf stage in life
• we see the Knights of Ren in action! Meet each member of the Knights, each with their own personality (one of em is a female); the co-captain and Kylo have a rivalry. They may be the villains but we get to know them
• we see Luke mourn heavily over the death of Han, and his regret over not getting to say goodbye inspires him to return to Leia with Rey
• Kylo finds out that Luke Skywalker is back and hunts him down to finally kill him
• Rey and Finn have romantic feelings towards one another, which is upended by: Kylo's attempts to connect with Rey (convert her to the dark side), Rey's dark side tendencies (which causes conflict between Rey and Luke), and Finn wondering if he's good enough for Rey (which Kylo berates him about...there's even some racist undertones for the audience to take away from)

It’s weird I remember his scene there to be very snowy, blue ish

RISE OF THE FIRST ORDER (pt 2)

• Finn and Luke hit it off really good
• it's teased throughout the film that Finn is force sensitive (there's even a funny scene when Rey and Luke return and everyone's at a table celebrating then each person tries to force snatch Luke's lightsaber then when it's Finn's turn the lightsaber makes a sound)
• Rey and Poe have great banter
• in the grand finale, Finn and Poe and the rest of the Resistance are in an all out fight against the First Order and the Knights of Ren on a vast grassy land; Luke and Rey vs Kylo in a forest nearby...Finn appears and attempts to fight Kylo (but Luke hides him away)...

Kylo gets in Rey's head promising her he'll find her parents then reveals Luke knows as well...Rey demands the truth from Luke and he fesses up...Rey and Luke face each other...Luke has sorrow and regret in his voice telling Rey the truth as Kylo still tries to convince Rey that Luke is not to be trusted (Mace Windu/Anakin/Palpatine sorta thing here)...

Luke then attempts to sneak and ignite his green lightsaber after turning it off but Rey force snatches it, so now Rey is convinced Luke is the bad guy...in the middle of a teary eyed speech from Luke, Rey stabs Luke with his green lightsaber

Finn screams in horror and comes from the trees to shoot at Kylo, but Rey isnt having it and pushes him away...Kylo knows how much vengeance is in Finn's heart and knows he can't live so he puts out a galaxy wide bounty on Finn's head and puts the murder of Luke on Finn...

• The First Order has won...Rey has risen as a new member of the Knights of Ren

• Poe offers to protect Finn and leave with him and Finn doesn't let him, but Chewie and R2D2 ain't havin it so they leave with Finn in the Falcon (who is disguised in his old Stormtrooper outfit)

THE END maybe some things could be changed
