no gameplay so far so that is what I was guessing. No real rush because spring is packed anyway and Summer will be too. Polish and take your time. Also likely RE8 DLC

honestly, i'd really like an october re release
Im 2 levels in on Requiem and its f***ing peak so far. Did not expect that
PEAK indeed. I loved the whole experience. It drew me in right from the start with Grace's parts. I beat it like 3 times.

When Leon was roundhousing zombies and hitting em with an axe was just f***ing peak too.
Grace's part got me at the beginning as well. Im hyped for this

i've had several moments in the last couple of years where i've thought "man I don't know about this re, is it gonna be as good as the others?"
And then it turned out yes it was better than all of them

Straight bangers for the last decade
Even the disappointing one (RE3 Remake) was a banger
(...they better have learned their lesson tho

It's more of a what could have been situation. RE3Nemesis was so goated and instead of doing more with it they did less. So yeah not a bad game, just a bit of a letdown. Also love what they did with Jill (who also needs to return already wtf)

Yeahhh, the game's got a perfect mix of stealth and action. You're in for a treat.
Remakes considered canon over the originals
They hit all the same major story beats so
both are canon
Been meaning to put my PS5 to use and randomly got this and this is incredible! I’ve been playing with my wife (who doesn’t know a thing about games) and she is so invested in the story and atmosphere. It’s really brought back a feeling I haven’t had gaming in a very long time.
I’ve heard RE7 is even scarier?

which one did you get?
7 is by far the scariest one in the franchise, especially in the early hours. it reaches the usual charming resident evil campiness eventually, but it starts off as a Texas Chain Saw Massacre meets Blair Witch, its great.
there's something about first person in horror games that amplifies it to an insane degree for me, cant even imagine what it would be like in VR.

I got Requiem! the visuals are stunning.
My boy was telling me 7 is scarier so I’ll check that out and you saying it’s Texas meets Blair Witch sounds insane. I was also looking at Silent Hill 2.

Silent Hill 2 is good, the new remake loses a bit of the charm of the original (imo), but it still conveys the themes and atmosphere of the og successfully. And it's waaay scarier with the updated visuals, of course. If you're into David Lynch, def check it out, it veers quite a bit into that territory and the creators of 2 have cited him as a major inspiration. It's probably the best story told in horror game history and unlike RE, most Silent Hill games are self contained stories so they don't come with 20 games-worth of baggage and lore.
Also one of the best soundtracks ever
