I’m not counting it as a solo Kendrick release, I’m saying that nobody was expecting him to drop a studio album in 2018 or 2019 because he had just given us four projects in four consecutive years. It’s not the same as Drake, who has basically been a guaranteed annual release ever since 2009, whether it’s a mixtape or a studio album.
The beef definitely affected the timeline of his next release, I don’t think that’s really deniable at this point
BP was a Kendrick album, he just played more of a DJ Khaled role rather than a rapping role
it was basically like Kendrick was Kanye or Travis Scott for the album since he did put vocals on most songs

Every artist is different and releases music at a different pace. Drake has shown us that he releases solo work at a regular clip annually with not many years skipped. Same for Future, Gunna, etc.
It’s very odd that for Kendrick you act like he’s scared to release music, but someone like Travis Scott has only dropped one solo project in the past 6 years and he gets absolved from these same criticisms
