Didn't have much time to play the last few weeks, but finally beat Cynthia using trick room to get past the f***in Garchomp
The team I used was Honchkrow, Rapidash, Roserade, Alakazam, Garchomp and Empoleon
Roserade was the MVP tbh, taking down Milotic and Gastrodon and surviving Garchomps earthquake to help me set up toxic

Just get one from the underground. They're abundant.

It's in diamond. It appears in any of the lava underground rooms. It's a not a special encounter or anything.

how’s diamond / pear remakes? been watching reviews, seem to range from mixed to positive.

i never played gen 4 actually (played gens 1-3 exclusively for years until gen 8), so i don’t have any nostalgia associated with it. idk if that’s a good or bad thing - i won’t know what is missing / what wasn’t improved, but also i don’t have any fond memories lol

thinking it may be a good story introduction for legends

i guess what i’m really asking is, should i get one of these or just play platinum emulated lol

Gen 4 is my favorite Pokemon gen, and the remakes are...pretty alright, just a bit lackluster because of the source material. They are very much remakes of Diamond & Pearl and that is a bit to its detriment. I still love D&P, and I love the remakes, however the same issues that I had playing D&P when I was like 10 or 11 are lowkey still present in this remake, and the reason why they are present is because the devs of this remake wanted it to be as accurate and faithful to the OG as they could, even if that meant keeping in some of the problems with them.

If you never played Gen 4 however, the remakes are a great way to experience them because they are accurate to the OG games with some very nice quality of life improvements. My only recommendation is after you play BD or SP, definitely check out Platinum if possible. That is the true/complete version of Gen 4 that fixed the shortcomings of Diamond & Pearl, and I wish that is what they based the remake on.

yeah i’m leaning towards getting one or the other since i’ve never played them and i have $50 in gift cards so i wouldn’t have to use too much of my own money anyway. with the things i see about platinum, i wish they would have just redone that one instead. would make the decision to purchase easier lol
